I have the permissions set for guest to be allowed to view attachments but they cannot but I know the images are there but I can only see them if I'm logged in so I'm lost!

Kind of the same thing from this post.

If you go to: https://bikerhound.com/index.php?topic=413.0 you should be able to see this image/attachment below the map.
You cannot view this attachment.

Here is the link to the image:
https://bikerhound.com/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=413.0;attach=152;image

They should also be showing here: https://bikerhound.com/index.php?action=listings but won't show for guests!
This is what I see:

You cannot view this attachment.

Here is the same post on my test board (fresh SMF2.1.1) and having the same problem:

I have my webhost involved in looking into the problem but any other help would be appreciated and you can PM me for [Paid Help] as I am willing to pay because I need for guests to see these attachments and I have a paid advertising campaign that is active.

P.S. Sorry not meaning to bump just updating! O:)

Thanks,

Double check the permissions, since neither the listing nor the topic shows the attachment as a guest it would be most logical to assume a permission conflict of some sort.

The SMF permissions, general and board profiles?

Thanks, problem solved! I forgot about the board profiles. It wouldn't let me edit the "Guest Profile" for "Reply only" so I had to create a new one called "Guest View" and ticked the "Allow guest to view attachments" and assign it to all the boards with the attachment issue.

I don't understand though why do I have to do that if I already allowed them in "General Permissions"?

But anyhow it's working and I'm happy!

Thanks @Aleksi "Lex" Kilpinen 8)

That's fairly simple to explain, I hope - The general permissions are only valid in boards that aren't assigned a specific different board profile. You have apparently assigned a different profile (the "reply only"?) to those boards, and so needed to change the profile as well to have this permission change in effect there as well.
