Trying to use the site package server feature told me to follow a URL instead... which I did.

https://custom.simplemachines.org/packages/mods/index.php - gives me a database error message.

Aleksi "Lex" Kilpinen

Interesting. Haven't seen that one before.

DO NOT pm me for support!

I went to admin, to packages, and used the browse feature there to go find packages to install.

This is off a 2.1.2 install - it told me to follow the link I linked which generates a database error.

Steve

Odd because the link shown in mine is https://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/ which works.

Edit: Oh wait, you're saying 2.1.2?

Yes, 2.1.2. I literally just followed the link in the admin, and it said it couldn't access the package server and gave me the URL I posted above.

Note that the link that would be followed by the package server is NOT the same as what you'd visit normally for the mod site. Package servers behave a little differently.

Is that the current github download?

I'm seeing this on all 2.x.  I will go ahead & log issues for 2.0 & 2.1.  I suspect it's SMF, not the server.

2.1: https://github.com/SimpleMachines/SMF2.1/issues/7447
2.0: #261

Getting the DB error after following the url in the error message, would suggest there's an issue with the server or the cust site though.

Yep.  Also that it's universal...

I wasn't sure the urls looked correct, tho, so I logged 'em.  Can always close if needed.

Something seems to be fixed now. When I click the link Arantor posted I get a bunch of XML instead of a database error

And the browse packages feature works now :)
