Read x times in SMF 2.1

Hi. In SMF 2.1, there is no read topic function next to the topic name by default. In this topic, a user mentioned this:

But unfortunately, this function does not work properly in SMF 2.1, if the topic has 1 thousand views, then 1 reading is displayed instead of 1 thousand.

Is anyone able to look at this and give a solution for fixing it?

There is nothing to look into as this is not a default feature of Smf 2.1.x.

Answered in your other topic because keeping it together made more sense.

It's still not (nor going to be) a default feature of 2.1 - doubly so because the trend over time is that the number is functionally useless: bots inflate this number artificially, so every time you get search engines visiting this number goes up, so older topics will just trend towards being the highest, occasionally skewed by individual topics that have a lot of replies.

Take a look at the top 10 most viewed topics on this site, half of them make no sense why they're that popular, but they are *old*.
