I have decided to take the leap and switch one oversold host for another.  In the interim, members have joined and posts have been made.

Could I merely back up the current database and restore on the new host to make the forum whole?

Thanks for suffering the dumb questions...   ;)

Yes, although you will need to use repair_settings.php to update the paths and URLs after you restore in the new location

Please do not PM, IM or Email me with support questions.  You will get better and faster responses in the support boards.  Thank you.

In addition to the database you should move the forum files over to the new hosts as well. This is very important especially if you have custom mods installed and/or have done manual edits to the files.

I made an export backup (20gig) Namecheap is supposed to be making the switch happen...  Meantime life gets lifey at the old digs.

As always, thanks for the expert guidance.
