A year later I see, but I just had that message appear in my admin:

Could not retrieve the file https://www.simplemachines.org/smf/current-version.js?version=SMF+2.1.4.

URL of page causing the error

https://www.mysite.com/forum/index.phphttps://www.mysite.com/forum/cron.php

(It's just like that in the message; no space between the two addresses)

Backtrace information

#0: scheduled_fetchSMfiles()
Called from /home/mysite/www/www/forum/Sources/ScheduledTasks.php on line 116

#1: AutoTask()
Called from /home/mysite/www/www/forum/cron.php on line 150

Where I wrote "mysite" in the two lines above, there was no www. or .com, just my page name.

My forum seems to work OK, so not surew what this means. Thank you.

You can disable any cron job giving you problems in the admin section (Can't remember where).

Sir Osis of Liver

Oddly, just got the same error on two of my forums, and couple of client forums.  Appears to be a server issue.

When in Emor, do as the Snamors.

Same here.  This happens when the smf .org site goes down briefly, e.g., for maintenance.

Not really a problem unless it persists.  Then we'd have to let the site team here know.

Sir Osis of Liver

Doesn't affect the forum, so no big deal.  If the error's not serious, maybe just remove it?

This has been recurring on my site, some local test installations & sites where I'm admin & have access to the error log.

If you check the link I gave just before your post, you'll see that this should have been fixed now.
Please post in Site Comments, Issues and Concerns if the issue continues.
