I am using v 2.1.4 and no matter what size an image is that I attach to a post, it always displays as a thumbnail.  I have looked at the attachments settings and all seems well. I want the images to display full size within the post.

What am I missing please?

While editing your post, click the blue up-arrow next to the red X for the attachment. That will embed it within the post's text.

If your forum is also set not to show thumbnails for embedded attachments, then no thumbnail will appear below the post.
I promise you nothing.

Thanks very much for the reply.

So are you saying I have to make a post and then edit everytime?

Also, if I turn off the display thumbnail option, I get links/file names instead of images.

No, you have an insert button (blue arrow) when you attach the image in post editor.

This is how a post looks with an image attached.

I note that the post I made above gives me the option to click on the thumbnail and enlarge it, I don't seem to have that option on my forum?

Please, remember that we are all volunteers here and we do not promise real time support. Bumping a topic within hours of your last post simply will not speed up things.

How images are presented, depends a lot on your specific settings. Image size restrictions, thumbnail sizes, the actual file, etc. all play a part in it.

Here, an image is embedded:

You cannot view this attachment.

Under this, the same file is attached and displaying a thumbnail.
The image is larger than the thumbnail, so it is clickable.

Thanks for taking the time to reply. I don't have the blue arrow/red cross next to images, is that because of the theme I'm using?
