Hi guys,.. I have a few Failed tests 'flagged' with various aspects of some of the Themes I have loaded that some of my users are using.

Lunarfall:
Post.template.php
Profile.template.php
Register.template.php

Hextech:
Settings.template.php

Repulse_v1.0.1:
css/jquery-ui.datepicker.css

Having never actually committed to an upgrade, previously with Extra Themes, am simply unsure exactly How to proceed and/or what specifically needs to be done,.. If anything ?? :)

Thanks, in advance.

Generally, It's normal that custom themes might fail updates that are designed for the Default theme.
And, usually you can go ahead with the update, just make a note of the files AND exact edits that failed,
so that after the update you can go through the edits one by one to see if they are actually needed and if you can do them manually.

If you need help deciding if they are indeed needed, or how to do them manually, you would probably be best starting with the themes' own support topics - Their authors probably know their themes best. I would guess that Hextech and Repulse are fine though, not a 100% sure on Lunarfall as I haven't checked what edits are done to those files.

How you can help SMF

OK,.. thanks  :)

Am happy to proceed,.. I was simply wondering, what the outcome might be regarding the various Themes reporting issues as such:)
I only listed the Themes, to delineate the various differences I was seeing across the board.

I will look to the Theme Authors for Help/Guidance :)
Thanks again, much appreciated.

Hey Stewart,

Sounds like you're doing the right thing by checking with the theme authors. I've had a few failed tests too during updates, and most of the time it's just small changes. After the upgrade, I usually compare the updated files with the theme ones to see what needs fixing.

It's not always a big deal, but it's good to double-check just in case. Hope it goes smoothly!

Yeah,.. Have had some positive responses so far with the developers intending to check their Themes shortly.

I simply had never done an Upgrade WITH any alternate themes installed or used.
We only implemented extra themes after we took over the forums and had upgraded them all to 2.1.4 :)
