No option for members to hide their email in SMF 2.1.6?

Is there no option for members to hide their email and allow users to send email to others?
The online manual is not helpful for this:

"Email - A member may choose to hide their email, in which case it is not displayed."
"Allow users to email me - A member may choose to allow other members to contact them via email. The forum does not reveal the member's email address, but instead provides a contact form."
But I don't found such options in SMF 2.1.6.

The option was removed in 2.1 if I remember correctly, and addresses are always kept hidden (except from admin).
