Hello! My SMF version is 1.0.5

I am trying to lock the "Administration" board. I have searched this forum, and tried:

Locking a whole board. Go to Admin => Edit Permissions. Go to the Edit Permissions by Board box (below the members one) and select the board you want to lock. Select the checkbox's of all the groups you want to lock the board to (All of them if you want to ENTIRELY lock out the board to everyone besides admins. (This includes global mods and mods)) Below the list of groups you'll see  "Apply pre-defined permission profile" pull down that box, and select restrictive. Then click the Set permissions button in the bottom right hand corner. This'll set permissions for everyone to that of a guest, pretty much. No posting, polling, replying, voting, ect. Just viewing.

However, when I log in as a newbie (I set up a bogus member to test it) using another browser, I can still post new topics to that board.

What could be going wrong?

Thanks, J.D.

Well, I solved it myself by unlocking my brain...

I wasn't checking the right checkboxes (the ones on the far right).

Thanks anyway....

EG

i lock mine down just by not allowing ANY member groups to see it
