adding my logo

Hi and happy new year to everyone ,

I have a question,I would like to add my own personnal logo above the smf logo.I'm geussing i have to use the template index.php,can anyone tell me how to do it? or show me the code to add?I'm new and still trying to figure this all out

Looks like you've worked it out. But just incase, you will need to edit the index.template.php of the theme you are using.

Thanks for the reply! but  no i didn't get it worked out,i want it on top of where it is right now,and leave the smflogo where it usually is!
  I know it can be done but i'm not a code person (yet)!
