[1.1RC2]SSI + Header + Footer

Heya, I plan to use SSI on my front page (portal.php).
However I wish to know how to integrate the header/footer of my board into portal.php.
I want the front page to blend in with the forums..so basically all CSS included.

Am currently using Default theme.

Can this be done? Please shed some light for me on how to do this, if it's possible.
