Use center tags:

<center>adcode</center>

or

<div align=center>ad code</div>

I should be over at www.smfads.com [nofollow] later today if anyone does need additional help. :)
Could you please take a look at the problem that I posted earlier - when you get a chance:

"Everytime I post an ad, it shows up twice both in the "Edit Ad section" and on my website http://www.mitraz.com/forum/index.php [nofollow]. I found several posts on this same issue but could not locate an answer. It enters the same ad twice side by side on it's own and when I remove any one of them both of them are removed at the same time. I tried different ways. I am using default theme and not clicking twice. Same Ads are showing up twice. Please help. Thanks."

Bigguy, have you gotten a chance to look into this problem yet? Thanks.

Hi,

I installed it, but when I add a skyscraper add, it adds it twice (in the database and on the pages).  Any idea of what the problem might be?  This happens for any ad btw.

Thanks,
Roger

hi,

What theme and language are you using?

Filipina

i have tried to search these 82 pages but i am getting confused  ... hopefully this is a simple question :)

If I want to upgrade to the latest version of this MOD do I have to unistall the last version, or just upload the new version and it will replace the old one? :)  I am using SMF default 1.1.3

If it fails then can i just upload the old version again?

Bigguy

Uninstall the version you are using now and install the new version. All the ad code you have placed will be there when you install the new.

Filipina

thanks for the response big guy... i seem to be in this endless cycle with errors trying to install or unistall mods... i have 19 mods but not million.... here is the error i got when trying unistall the 2.0 ad mod... any ideas?  :)

5. Execute Modification ./Themes/default/Display.template.php Test failed

Bigguy

You can iether remove the code manually or you can uninstall it and replace the failed file. I would think the reason it failed would be because of another mod installed after the ad mod was has changed the file somewhat. So you best bet would be to uninstall it and remove the code manually from that file.

I have the same problem and been posting this for last few weeks, unfortunately no response. This would have been a very useful mod if this problem could be addressed. Bigguy, do you know why this is happening or what could be done?
Thanks.

This has been addressed and answered. ;) Check for duplicate code in the index.php file in the ROOT of your SMF install and/or check out the 4 template files that the ad mod edits during install and remove the duplicate code there. All edits can be found here:

Thanks. Sorry, I couldn't find it before. I am going to try this. But only thing I am worried about....how to take precaution, so that I don't mess things up in the forum software....I am new with forum and still in a learning stage. Could you please advise.
Thanks.

BACKUP BACKUP BACKUP, do that first. The database and the rest of the forum if you have cpanel or a similar control panel on your host that will allow that. Download the file you are editing with ftp and use a good editor like "PHP Designer 2007" it is what I use. uninstall the mod and then when you are going to re-upload the file (display.template.php) that you edited, rename the original (that is on the host still) so the one you edited does not overwrite it. This way in case your edits did not work you can still go back to the original. The most important thing to do is backup. :) Hope that helps a bit. :)

Hi bigguy and thanks for the helpful information.... i went and looked at those edits and let me make sure i understand this...

since when i tried to unistall the only test that failed was the Display.template.php i guess that is the only file i need to worry about?

when looking at my Display.template.php code with the 2.0 Ad mod I have installed now (and seeing the 3 needed changes to that file mentioned in the link) 2 of them already look like the new code mentioned... it is only the 3rd one that still looks like the "before" code. &nbsp;I wonder how that happened :) &nbsp;

Bigguy

Yes Display.template.php is the only file you have to worry about. I am not quite sure I understand that last part but all 3 changes have to be reversed.

I installed this mod and add my google adsense skyscraper there but it doesnt appear in my page. I choose Display ads on every page as a tower on the right side but it doest appear. The same thing happens also in my other adds, like  in banner and leaderboard.

One  quick question. What theme and language are using?

fangweile

I used dilber mc theme and only english language. I have tried the default theme but it doesn't appear either.

If it doesn''t appear with the default theme as well, then maybe you have not enabled the permissons.

P.S Your default language, is it plain english, or maybe english utf8? If that is the last one, then change it to plain english.
