Yes it can.

How would one go around doing that with the code box?

Try this:

<div align=center><a href="http://www.link_to_site.com" target="_blank">
<img src="http://www.link_to_image.info/some.gif">
</a></div>

That will also center it.

This might be a very dumb question but how can I change the background color of the mod?

Thanks :)

KarKess

Does anyone know how to get the ad management to work properly on themes other than the default theme.  I want to use the Big Blue theme, but can't get the ads working on the bottom or sides.

The inline ads, like ones from AdBrite, do not go into the posts, like they do on other forums. Is there a way to do this?

Hi,

im using the latest ad management software but the ads doesn't show up in IE but strangely it does in firefox: hxxp:tinyurl.com/6qrtdv [nonactive] can anyone help me out? Thanks!

same for me mate. checked the source code, and it doesn't even show up in IE, meaning that IE is not recognizing the modded code or that the mod is not altering the code properly for IE to see it, etc.

Same here - any help guys? Same symptoms - the rendered code literally doesn't appear between tags for the table, div, etc. you set up for the ad to appear in.

I'm going to try to have my PHP-guru buddy look at this if no one else has any ideas.

I have the default theme, and Enterprise theme. SMF 1.1.5
I'm trying to install this mod on the Enterprise theme, yet I really do not have any idea of where to add the code for the ads under the menu, as that theme is more complex in it's coding than the default. I want to have something on that theme only, and plan to remove the under menu code from the default.

Does anyone know the correct place in the index.template.php of Enterprise theme to insert the under menu code?

Seems no one is here answering anything.  ::)

@ djso: There is no background color for the mod. The background color of what you add is what you want to change. This has nothing to do with this mod. :)

@ KarKess: You have to manually edit 4 template files in your custom theme. There are instructions on this on the smfads website and on my site as well in the admod support board.

@ BurkeKnight: Not sure what you mean by this. Any code should work in any position that the ad mod offers.

@ cgoodwin73: This is a new problem I have not heard of as of yet. Maybe the mod author has and is working on it. You will have to wait for him to respond I guess.

@ BurkeKnight: Download a free program called Winmerge. (after googling it;)) it is a file comparison program. Compare the two index.template.php files  in this program after you have the mod installed to the default theme. THis will show you were in the default index.template.php file the ad mod code goes and then should give you a hint as to where to put it in the enterprise theme. So it goes like this:

1.) Download and install Winmerge

2.) Install the ad mod to the default theme

3.) Download both the default themes index.template.php and the one from the Enterprise theme.

4.) Run them through the program and compare where the ad mod code is to the code in the enterprise theme...it should give you a good clue as to where it goes.

Hope that helps a bit. :)

I have been very busy lately but am trying to get back into the swing of things. Answers might be a bit in coming though as I do have other projects on my plate.

KarKess

Could you please provide a direct link, so I'm not blindly searching these sites.

Thanks,

These edits should be up to date. Keep in mind you only have to do the edits to the template files if the mod is already installed.

I've been meaning to get around to changing Ads Mgmt on my forum and I've just spent the better part of yesterday afternoon failing miserably.  There's a setting in the Ads Mgmt for "Display ads on every  page right below the menu." and I simply want to make that call to reference a different placement on my index template.  Here's the picture of what I'm trying to do (move this ad placement to above the nav in the forum banner area justified right):

I'm using smf 1.1.5 and Theme BackRain:  http://www.motleypixel.com/forum/

I looked through this thread and the first 6 pages of the Ads Mgmt forum and couldn't find an answer.

Thanks,
Roy

So change the background color around the ads?  Could you explain a little further, I'm new :)

Bigguy

This is something you will have to ask the site you get your ads from. I know Google allows you to change bg color.

Bigguy

@ lextalionis: Use the setting "Show ads on top of page" and then use a align=right for the position you want.

tyty1234

I have downloaded and installed this mod for SMF version 1.1.5
The problem is that my users can't see the ads! But only admins can.
What's the problem?
