Hello!

I just installed a brand new Forum version: SMF 1.1.9
Has the Core theme
I installed EzPortal.
I installed Ad Managment 2.3

No errors at all.

But in administration under Configuration there is no link for Ad management.
I thought I had read it would be found there after the install.

What did I do wrong? Is there another option in admin I need to enable or disable or anything. What did I miss doing?

Thank you for any help on this
The problem is in your language i guess, what language are you using ?

Thank you for your help response. Oh, hm, I'm unsure about the language part. What and where do I need to change something in Admin? I didn't install anything else other than ezportal and ad management. I missed something huh? New to all this bulletin board stuff. My appologies for that :)

Look at your permission settings for each group. :)

That only let's me enable ads.

It doesn't allow me to format them how I want them for every membergroup.

Registered users: I want to have limited ads (1 per board for registered users)
Guest users:  3 on the index, and 1 on each board plus under the last post for the guests.

The problem is, I can only see a way to allow them(all) for one group or to not allow them(all) .

Anybody Anybody? Moderator? Techie? Willing to help me out with this? I love SMF and appreciate that it's a beautiful Bulletin Board that is offered for us to use for free.

Though, I do need some tech advice how to get the ad management mod working.

I "thought" this mod was running great. Looked great to me anyway.
But, no one was clicking on any ads, nothing was happening. Strange.

Well, I needed to help a member so I logged in via her account and whaaa....
No ads were displaying!  So, I tried another account. Nothing.
No ads display.

The ads don't display EXCEPT for the administrator - me.

This is really baffling.

I checked the code in index-template.php and I don't see anything that sets it to display ads only to admin.

Very baffling.

Is this fixable?

THANKS!

Admin>permissions>Modfy change view to classic >Enable Ads

Wow. How easy. :)

Thanks.

ShadoWind

I installed this in 1.1.9 and there's no option in the "Configuration" section of the Admin area to customise the ads...

I'm using the default theme at the moment if that's any help...

KirkhamsEbooks

Did you install using Fantastico? I had that problem when I did and just started the forum over, but I'm not as skilled as most of these folks

Rick

I installed the board using Fantastico but I don't want to have to start all over again just because one mod won't work even though it installed fine.

KirkhamsEbooks

I realize 99% of the replies here are for help and indeed I could always use help, but I wanted to thank you for this mod. I just received my first Adsense check after installing it and would like to give you a donation if you tell me how to do so.

My family and I thank you for this income opportunity

Unable to load the 'Ads.english' language file.

Thanks for your help

Bigguy

If you are using utf8 for language instead of striaght english then you won't see anything. Change Ads.english.php to Ads.english-utf8.php and see if it helps.

Try this:

Change this:

       unset($ads);
    }

To this:

       unset($ads);
    }';

Or this:

       unset($ads);
    };

One of them should work.
