What happen to the owners own forum?

http://www.smfads.com

AFAIK, The domain was for sale for a while, they probably removed the index.php file by the looks of it

Someone else decided it would be fun to remove the index.php file.

i have installed this and have it working great. there is something i would like to know how to modify.

when placing ads in the section after last post.  the background to the ads is grey but my forum uses a white background to posts. this makes the ads look odd.

is there anyway to change this?

hartiberlin

Hmm,
seems the SMFads Mod will soon be dead:

Here he sells his domain:

Will there be now a version for the upcoming version SMF 2 RC2 ?

Or what other Mod could be used to place Google Adsense Ads between postings ?

Many thanks.

One of the most popular mods without Dev? How can SMF let this happen?

SMF 7 is where it gets good. That has time travel. You can go back and post before the guy who flamed you. :P

madfiddler

What a shame. I'm sure people would have paid a small amount to keep this going? Perhaps SMF could take it on and make it a benefit of Charter Membership or something?

I just installed Ad mod correctly. It said installed correctly.

I cannot find the panel to control the ads anywhere.  The directions say this:

"It can be found in the Administration panel under the heading "Configuration". There is a new link there called "Ad Management" .Clicking on this link will bring up the configuration screen for the Ad Management Mod. In here you will see 4 tabs, Edit ads, Add ads, Reports and Credits."

You can see my menu below. I check ed in all the selections and I cannot find "Ad Management."

I have deleted smf version 1.0 and put smf 2.0 and it's the same thing. Only administrator(me) can see ads and nobody else.

HecKel

You have to change the group's permissions and let them see ads, just that.

Those files are inside the mod package (zip), they should be uploaded if you have installed the mod, you can manually upload them via FTP if your having problems with the package manager.

When installing via the package manager, at the bottom of all the file edits list, click "Install in other Themes", check off the files in your theme.
