And my impression from reading is that if you don't put any code into one of the ad sections, then it just displays the forum as it was before, right?

For example, if I don't use the tower, then no none will ever know the difference, i.e. there's no blank space, etc.?

Question:

I just installed the ad mod and have gotten it to work with simple Amazon Affiliate ads, so thx!  But I want to put something like this into my sky tower on the right:

<a href="http://www.myadvertiser.com" target="_blank"><img src="nameofpic.jpg" height="600" width="160"></a>

I ftp'd nameofpic.jpg into the forum folder, but nothing displayed.

What am I doing wrong?  Was that the wrong location for the pic?  Or are the dimensions of the image wrong?

Any help is much appreciated.

Hey guys. I am running 1.18 with Ad Management mod, and when I place my adsense code into the "content" box it doesn't show up. According to Google, a blank space should show up while they crawl my site. I tried everything like enabling ads for admins, switching to the default them, etc.

Does anyone have an idea why it wouldn't show up?

For new sites it takes a while a couple days at least normally.

Oh okay. I did see that, but they said I'd see blank ads until the real ones are placed, and I don't see any placeholders or blanks.

vbgamer45

Well it should be empty space depending on your ad settings

That's what I thought, so something is wrong.

Are there any settings in the Mod that would effect them not showing up?

vbgamer45

The only thing that affects is the ads permission in each membergroup and I think there is a setting to hide adds from admins

Damn.

Does anyone know where in the Babylon Theme code I'd the AdSense script if I want a banner? I tried googling it and found 10 different answers and none worked.

This mod only works with the default theme, correct? Does the pro version work with Babylon?

It gives you the option to install it into other themes. Install it via the Package Manager.

I'm using version 1.18, so in this version, and with the free mod, it gives the option to install into other themes?

I uninstalled and tried reinstalling via package manager, and it says it's installing into the default theme (test successful). There isn't an option to change that or install into other themes. Or did you mean the pro version gives those options?

SMF 1.1.18 does not have that capability, only SMF 2.0.x does.

For SMF 1.1.x you will have to install the theme edits manually on your custom theme.

That's what I thought, and there aren't any good instructions online (they're all old and for earlier versions).

Is it a pain to upgrade to 2.0? Maybe that's the best option.

I have a package parser that you can upload the package to
http://www.smfhacks.com/smf-package-parser.html

And it will give you the manually install instructions theme edits needed

Cool, thanks, I am trying it now.

It says find </td> -- how is one to know which /td they're talking about?
