I'm using the smf bridge for joomla and dont want the rendundacy of an aditinal login showing on the forum once they've logged into my site. Is this possible? Will it cause other issues.

version smf1.1rc2 and joomla 1.08

if you have the bridge, there should be no additional "login" showing AFTER they have logged in to joomla.

Never-the-less, you can comment out the code in the SMF template (index.template.php and boardindex.template.php).  Try looking at the tutorial by chadness...

I'm sorry..i probab;y wasnt clear..I know that there isnt a login field once they've logged in via the bridge. What I dont want is the option for users to log out while browsing the forum...the "log out " buttom would still show correct?...in essence, I want all login-out functions to be managed by the bridge

yes.   comment out the lines with the login form in index.template.php and boardindex.template.php
