Can't register 2 of the same name?

I've noticed when using the bridge registration that two people with the exact same name can't register.  Well the second one can't because it says this username/password already in use.  Anyone else run into this?  Its possible there are more than one John Smith's in the world.

It is possible that there are more than one John Smith's in the world.  Unfortunately, the Joomla permission system is based on real names, and the SMF mail settings are also based on real names.  That would mean that having two people register with the same real name would be a security concern.

Sorry, but the software I write just will not allow a user to register with the real name of a site admin, a moderator, or anyone else, for that matter.

John James Smith is just going to have to use his middle name, I guess.
