Depends on what you are looking to integrate with SMF. You can integrate just about anything with SMF. I am afraid you will need to be more specific in your request for information.

I was going to make a news system...and other similar things, and was wondering where I can find in the SMF codes the things i'd need to use for showing member names and all that.

I think you got a good answer above.  Look at all the SSI.php FAQ's and you should be able to do whatever you wish from that.  Don't give up so easily.....
