1. Rating/Karma System: rating for every post.
Everyone can evaluate for the value of any post, and the poster would receive the evaluated credit (-5 ~ +5).
One example could be found here:
http://forums.slickdeals.net/forumdisplay.php?f=9

Personally, I quite like the forum style of slickdeals. It is built from VBB.

2. One Wiki post available for every thread, such that anyone can edit and update for latest news.
such as the third post here:
http://forums.slickdeals.net/showthread.php?sduid=0&t=1076306

3. "Topic alert" system. Members could subscribe to any topic they are interested, such that we could get notifies for the latest post with the "topic alert" system by email or instant message.
One example is the "Deal Alert" also in slickdeals:
http://forums.slickdeals.net/dealalerts.php?do=viewdealalerts

4. User ranks based on posts and evaluations from others
e.g. titled as "most helpful person", "most active person", etc... of "this week", "this month", "last three months",... just for fun~

5. Interest Groups. Anyone can create a group, and one could join multiple groups. Each group could have one board/blog after activation.

6. To be friendly to invite friends to join a group.

7. Every member could have their own message board, publicly showing their recent activities, like the wall of facebook

8. Blog support or offer bridge with Wordpress?

9. Atom/Rss feed support

10. Tag support

11. One livechat board?

12. To be friendly to search engines

Are you asking for features? O.o Cause:

1) You can rate people with Karma... A modification for 1.1 is available

2) Well... I don't think so... could be easily abused and unfixed if you had a small user base... Even a forum like this forum's user base would probably be to small :P (Thats how WikiPedia works sort of. So many people use it and edit it they trust others will fix articles if they need to be)

3) Already done, notifications. Plus SMF has one of the best new/old post/board systems I have seen a forum have.

4) Based on posts? Done... On evaluation? Well... You could do it yourself I suppose.

5) In a way sort of done. You can have groups people can join or opt out of. You just have to make them and set whether or not people can just join or if you need to approve it.

6) PM System? O.o

7) Uh...

8 ) I think there is already a WordPress Bridge. Check out the Portals, Bridges and Integrations board

9) Already in SMF, both ;)

10) I'm sure there is a modification for this... But I cannot seem to find it.

11) Huh? like a shoutbox?

12) I could be wrong, but I already think SMF is :P

2. Well, if we could have a wiki thread feature, webadmins could choose to turn it on or off by default, right?

aldo

Depends if it was setup to... But I know SMF will probably not have this feature any time soon

drroot

oOo...That's a sad news.

The wiki feature would be great for group discussion.

SMF tries to keep 'bloat' features out and I don't see devs adding wiki threads.

For wiki threads you could request it as mod.
Websites: Madjoki || (2 links retracted by team, links out of date and taken over.)
Mods: SMF Arcade, Related topics, SMF Project Tools, Post History

WIP Mods: Bittorrent Tracker || SMF Wiki

7) !!!!

The facebook wall IMHO will be the next killer application for bulletin boards!

2. Definitely not something that will be a default feature in SMF. It's not a default feature in vB either for that matter (I post on several vB-powered forums and have never seen that before)

4. Again, this is better as a mod.

5., 6., and 7. SMF is a forum system, not a social networking script.

9. See http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=25009.0 for more details :)

11. Not sure what a livechat board is...

12. SMF is already search-engine friendly.
