In SMF, we have a news fader, now I use 1.1.10, but I believe it's inherent in all of them. However the news fader does not rotate in Google Chrome, nor does it fade as it does in IE.

In fact it stays completely still.

It does however, work with Opera, Firefox and Safari >_>;

Are you using the default (core) theme? Can you give us a link to your site?

Google Chrome is not detected for 1.1.x (since it was release after 1.1.x final was released.

This will not be fixed for 1.1.x. It has however already been fixed for 2.x in the svn for 2.0 rc2 when it is released.

a quick workaround for Chrome is to move the var smfFaderContent array outside of the CDATA... I don't know what other problems this may cause, but moving the array below the rest of the vars (below line "var foreColor, backEl, backColor;") in BoardIndexTemplate.php for my Theme worked wonders... My News Fader now works in Chrome and IE...

Thanks man. It worked on SMF 1.1.11 ;)

Um, a quick note, I think you meand var smfFadeContent array instead of var smfFaderContent  ;)

Anyway I made the changes on 1.1.11 too, and it worked for me, thanks!

From BoardIndexTemplate.php, lines 35-78 (give or take)
