vBulletin + photopost is the same of SMF + ___ ?

Hello People,

I was taking a look in Bodybuilding com website.

It makes an integration between STORE, SUPERSITE, FORUM AND 'BODY SPACE'.

Let's forget STORE and SUPERSITE and let's talk about FORUM + BODY SPACE integration, right?

User login in one of the systems will be logged in others "modules" of the website.

Forum uses vBulletin and 'Body Space" uses photopost system that has an integration to vBulletin foruns.

I use CS-CART (www cs-cart com) like my webstore system.

MY BIG DOUBT IS:

is possible to use  SMF like the forum and another gallery mod to make things work like BODYBUILDING com website?

For example: I register like a webstore user (cs-cart) and after that I will can use FORUM or BodySpace (gallery) with the same login, without necessity to login in each one module separete?


If yes, could you give me an idea how to TO ALL THIS INTEGRATION? WEB SERVICES?

It looks like it is just using SSI functionality. They use different software for each part of the site, for example, the forum part they use vB in its own directory, then they use some program or maybe custom code to use the "myspace" in its other section. I would think SSI would be the best place to look.

In this case, I will use SMF + ____ (what is the best module option to integrate with SMF system?

I would like to use a OPEN SOURCE solution. I am very afraid about paid systems that you don't know how much you will pay next year.


One thing I note is that inside foruns or store you can see things like PHOTOS from people who have used that product. This is very nice in my opinion, looks something REAL (you can see the photo).

First. Thanks for your post.

About use of Coppermine: I WILL NEVER TRY TO USE THIS GALLERY in my life. People from it's community are not interested to help or to discusse. I do not recommend.
I can explain it better, if anyone wants. But, after a very time lost to know what could be good... 4galley was choiced.

I have just started this thread, more completed about what I want to know about suggestions and ideas to integration.

yes, there are a number of integration hooks implemented to allow linked sign-on.
