Hello People!

First, Happy 2010 to everyone!

Basically, my idea is a general integration between parts / modules of a PORTAL.

The system that I liked the idea and I use it can be seen on this website:
www bodybuilding com

Upon entering it, the first thing you see are 4 options for the visitor:
STORE (STORE, where we seek to the sale, in fact, the products)
SuperSite (a kind of portal, with thousands of articles and videos - they are very large)
BodySpace (a gallery where participants can insert pictures, details of training, progress, body measurements over time and receive statistics, etc.).. It's kind of Orkut, which only has a great interaction between the modules, especially with the STORE.
FORUMS (well, the concept of forum does not change. The difference is the integration with vBulletin PhotoPost (gallery)).

You can visit the will, but if you want to participate in some of them with comments, buying or entering your photos ... will have to register to log into the system. I did, of curiosity. It's very simple and you enter a page to fit your profile, upload photos, etc..

I thought they had purchased a license for vBulletin forum and one of Photopost Pro to the gallery and then made the sign of integration with other parts / modules. I was wrong. They have the vBulletin and Photopost pro, but set a lot.

Setting a bit better the history, I started trying to see if it could be much less dependent on paid software that every day they invent a freshness that needs updating, and of course, possible. In addition, it gives the guys a crazy triple the price and you're in their hands.

I started looking for options and have already commented FORUMS preferred because the JMF in another topic. The first topic that opened here was this:
http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=340369.msg2291299 # msg2291299

I got quick response.

It, like it or not was the basis for further research.

It has been suggested by User Kindred the use of 2 galleries: "gallery2 or coppermine".
As I said, this Coppermine I do not use more than one way (also because I have mentioned).

Looking at the forum Photopost made contact with a User who used the SMF I replied:

"I chose SMF and Photopost reasons diferentes.O Photopost is much more complete than Coppermine, despite some shortcomings and SMF is for me the best systems in the Forum and which nicely integrates the Photoposte.

Never put option by vBulletin.

I have another site, where I use a free system, which I consider better than Photopost.O site is here www.globalfoto.net [nofollow] and the use 4images.

I tried to contact and membership in the phpbb forums. I got it installed long ago on a site, but ... now I need something to watch and professional. Even enter the forum phpBB Group I can. This demonstrates that the software is not mature beyond the issue of the Forum (community), which for me was the principal.

Well, there had my doubt about which systems to use Forum (SMF) and Gallery (4gallery).

Started, then a question of how to integrate all this in an efficient manner.

As I thought, I noticed that the idea of BodyspacE (gallery) that seems to have been set by the staff of the site (bodybuilding), was very similar to a social network. The difference is that this network, things had interaction with a large forum, with articles and a shop. The blogs, for example, is not nailed to a store. Another issue that I noticed upon entering the site of Photopost was:

"PhotoPost is photo sharing gallery software for your site that lets your users upload photos to galleries and to interact in photo discussions. Install it yourself, or let us get your gallery up and running in one day."

When you click on CUSTOMER GALLERIES (http://www.photopost.com/sitesphp.html [nofollow]) guess who is first as EXAMPLE?

BodyBuilding.com

Type: PhotoPost Pro
Members: 1,988,456
Photo Views: 453,432,375
Comments: 1,836,904
Uploads: 474.290

The guys have almost 2 million members.

I have the Photopost integration with SMF.

I thought, if he does all that already exists on BodySpace and I only have to pay to license it once, you'll be good enough. It sent an email to the staff of Photopost and they replied:
"where do you believe Photopost Pro is installed on that site?"

Damn, this was to kill. Is a prime example of their site and the guys even know.

I replied

"Well, I have 2 things that let me know that:

1ST: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/photo/ [nofollow]

Powered by: PhotoPost PHP
Copyright 2005 All Enthusiast, Inc.

2ND:

http://www.photopost.com/sitesphp.html [nofollow]

You can see image in attachment, too. "

HENCE THE STAFF SAID ME:
"I did not see any photo gallery on that site specifically."

AHAHAHAHAAH, come on. I have to laugh to keep from crying.

As the colleague had given me the option as better 4gallery ... guess what I'm going to install ..

WHAT I NEED:

copy the idea of Bodybuilding by the possibilities they have, but using other software.

The client makes a login and participate (if desired) of all. Otherwise, it's just a spectator.
In any luck, he does not need to do a login to the forum, one for the store, one for the gallery, one for the news portal.

This is where is INTEGRATION.

I read in another topic that there are MODs, but unfortunately, I believe that no one will fill me completely.

Can I change the idea of the Gallery to a social network, provided that it is possible to integrate the same way, ie when you click a product below the description he gives everyone who bought that product.
Example
bodybuilding com / store / gn / super.html

Look what we have:

4611 Members Taking Gaspari Nutrition SuperPump250

That is, the individual who is interested in buying may consult the opinion of those who have bought or visit the gallery of the gang. At least he is sure that has over 4600 members who like that product. This is a great incentive sales.

Notice that the integration of the Forum for the GALLERY is just a LINK to that BodySpace User. There's nothing more. Pretty simple. You insert the link of the gallery in SMF, below the User image.

The point is that the picture of them (bodyspace) is not just a gallery, but has more SOME things as already mentioned: measures, training, etc..

I imagine, initially using:

Store: CS-CART (already in use companhiadanutricao.com.br/cn/loja)
forum SMF (sure)
Gallery: 4gallery
portal: joomla (because I have a good experience with him to this site: companhiadanutricao.com.br/portal  but is not integrated with the store)

An interesting response came from Kill Em All:
"It looks like it is just using SSI functionality. They use different software for each part of the site, for example, the forum part they use BB in its own directory, then they use some program or maybe custom code to use the" myspace "Look in its section. I would think SSI would be the best place to look.
How do I integrate SMF into my PHP coded website?
SSI Readme

CLARIFICATION: I am not here trying to abuse the good will of anyone, ok? Not someone to do it around for me. I explained all this with one goal: to build on the experience of others.
Sometimes we think our idea is the best, but someone else comes and with more experience, shows us that we can reap better results by following another path.

Hug and Happy New Year to all!

well, first things first...   there is no longer, and there never will be, an official bridge for Smf-Joomla (why?  See the discussions in the joomla bridge sub-board)
there are two non-official bridges, but neither is supported here.
