Are you changing the permissions under. Admin -> Permissions -> Then modifying each group. They need at least the View Gallery permission

yes, they have all gallery permissions allowed except manage gallery.  Even the other administrators cannot see it.  I'm the only one.

That is not SMF Gallery that is a different gallery.

What version of SMF? Is it all membergroups having this issue or just regular members?

SMF Gallery Lite 2.0.5 and it affects everyone.  The only one who can see the gallery is me.  Every other member group gets that message.

ah, nevermind!  I had moved the site to a new FTP location previously and the gallery was still linking to the old one.  Not even sure how it still worked even, but it seems like I have access working now :-)  Thanks though!

It would be located in the template_main function in the Gallery.template.php
That function contains the main frontpage of the gallery and image listing inside the category

I found the following line of code and changed the ORDER BY to "title" from "roworder", but it didn't change the order the pictures are being displayed.  Am I changing the wrong line?

Changed the wrong line. That is for category display order since it is the gallery_cat table.

I've tried everything I can think of on this line and nothing has worked so far.  It looks to me like the second SELECT line is only giving a count of the total number of pictures in the gallery.  I don't see anywhere that it is showing what order the pictures show up in.

vbgamer45, I have tried the "htaccess.txt" method.  I've uploaded the file and when I change the name it disappears.  I've also tried to find the ;id=

Wrong files should

Changed the wrong line. That is for category display order since it is the gallery_cat table.

Should be the second select in that template_main function

look for gallery_pic table

I've tried everything I can think of on this line and nothing has worked so far.  It looks to me like the second SELECT line is only giving a count of the total number of pictures in the gallery.  I don't see anywhere that it is showing what order the pictures show up in.

I finally figured this out and it was not in the template_main function.  It is in the template_image_listing function...beginning on line 166.  For others that would like to make this modification, search for "//Show the pictures".  The ORDER BY is about 7 lines below this.
