yes...   you take the mambo index.php and set it up accordingly along with the images folder, the css folder and templateDetails.xml

But the point is that these SMF themes are optimized/designed for use with the (already existing) mambo template called 24/7 portal.

You'll have to install these themes through SMF's thememanager.

I felt adventurous - this theme is working perfectly on 1.0.5. And has made my site look a million dollars!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My attempt at a 247portal blue theme for SMF was crude compared to this.

Thankyou!!!!!!

Is your 1.0.5 forum standalone, unwrapped or wrapped? I have it wrapped but can't get the forum to stay inside the Mambo template, it bleeds out around the edges.

Edited:

Xenovanis, how did you manage to keep the forum inside Mambo template, mines bleeds out.

Hi,

Could you please elaborate further how am I going to effect the theme in Mambo? I've done installing it in SMF and the theme is already in effect there. How do I proceed in Mambo? I think I should be changing some lines in template/index.php. But I'm not confident I can do it.

ummm....   what?

These themes are themes for use in SMF only!

They are intended to be combined with the standard (unmodified) 24/7 Portal Mambo template available on mamboforge.
The 24/7 portal template must be acquired and installed on your own... it is not part of these packages.

My problem of forum not aligning with Mambo template was caused by 'SMF Recent Posts' module, un-publishing the module fixed it.
(position of module was Bottom)

Good to hear, I searched the files but couldn't find anything that could cause that.

Oh? So that settles it. I was thinking it works like the Bridge, installing it in both SMF and Mambo. Sorry, next to the bridge, this is the second thing I will have to install to SMF/Mambo. Some more time, I'll achieve some sort of mastery on these 2 products. Thanks for the clarification.

Hi Xenovanis,

thanks for the great theme - they just made my day.

One thing I noticed when using IE 6. the width of SMF component block is 1-2 pixel narrower than the rest of the page (mambo "header" and "footer")

You can see this on your own test zone!
I can't do screen shots at the moment, just check on the right hand side the jump in the shadow just underneath the date.
Could be my IE....

FF renders this ok.

I'll look into that. I believe it does the same in Firefox, and when I tried to use full widht Mambo 'ate' the lines on the left and right.

xenovanis,

You rock man!  I use the green2 theme.  Is there a chance you will make that theme for smf?

Maybe I can import them from the template theme?

@xenovanis, can we mod the color schemes ourselves ? or do you want to keep control the template?

I would use "background-position" to shift the green gradient background gif in the CSS , getting a darker green gradient. as for the text, just look at the portal theme CSS for used green....

[edit]: position not offset... doh

I'm not sure what you mean by backgroundpostition and background gif. I'm also not sure what you mean by 'as for the text', as for the text it does already uses the css of the mambo-template...
Title: Re: 247portal Themes
Post by: DazUlrich on August 04, 2005, 09:15:46 AM
ok, what I meant is the following.

in your CSS you have

/* The category headers, page indexes, and such things. */
.catbg
{
   font-weight: bold;
   text-transform: uppercase;
   background-color: #0066CC;
   background-image: url(images/catbg.gif);
   color: #ffffff;

the catbd.gif is a colored gradient with diffent colors for the differnt themes / white - color - black.
as the height of the cat headers is smaller than the hight of the gif, only a section is shown if you shift the gif using background position, you can display a darker part of the gradient.

This is used in rhuk planetfall to create the changing manu bullet color hover effect...

a.mainlevel:link, a.mainlevel:visited {
   background: url(../images/menu_bullet.png) no-repeat;
   vertical-align: middle;
   font-size: 11px;
   font-weight: bold;
   color: #ff6600;
   text-align: left;
   padding-left: 15px;
   height: 18px;
   margin-bottom: 1px;
}

a.mainlevel:hover {
   background-position: 0px -20px;
   text-decoration: none;
   color: #ffffff;

When hovering the background picture position is changed - there fore a differt part of the gif displayed....

I used your green theme and changed background picture position and background colors and just added

background-position: 0px -20px; to the catbg definition.

http://www.railwayunionhc.com/hockey-forums

And you are are of course correct, the text colors are taken from template CSS.

(And yes, I know thI have a bug in the tables in my header - hadn't had time to fix it...)

Daz.

Actually.. I'm not really good at designing buttons, so I used these for the theme:

No, it points to the buttons in the PortalYellow imagesdirectory, so you don't need to change that. I did notice that two buttons were missing, see attachments.

Title: 247Portal Theme Changes?
Post by: stephenvb on August 09, 2005, 12:19:31 PM
I have a couple questions regarding the Portal Blue theme.

1.  I'd like to place a logo in the top header.  Is there an easy way to this?  I tried looking through the index.php file and the table structure is a little daunting.

2.  I have some font inconsistencies between the 247portal theme and the SMF Portal theme that I can't work out.  I've tried to copy the entire contents of the SMF .css file into the 247Portal .css file, but (admitting I not as familiar with the CSS files) am having trouble resolving the inconsistent fonts.

The site is www.criticaldetroit.org (http://www.criticaldetroit.org).  The inconsistencies are in the Login Module.  The module looks fine on the SMF forum page, but the fonts are larger when viewed from anywhere else.

i am about to remove the mambo bridge, if i do this, is there something i should change for the index.template.php do i have to put back the xhtml tag? for the weird fonts to appear correct?
thank you.

Well, for a start. Remember, this theme is adapted for mambo; the style.css is ripped so you need to add the missing entries again. Otherwise it will look like this:

argh!
anyway, i am going to start again working on this.

<td class="componentheading" valign="top"><div align="center" style="margin: 0 0 5px 0;" border="0">';

Where logo.gif is the image (could be any name or imageformat though) you upload to the /Themes/PortalBlue/images directory.

Well, the link doesn't work.. Actually, the loginmodule is using the 'smalltext' class from the SMF stylesheet, so copying that to Mambo's template_css.css should have effect. You could also open the file /modules/mod_smf_login.php and

search for:

echo '<td width="100%" valign="top" class="smalltext" style="font-family: verdana, arial, sans-serif;" align="'.$smf_align.'">';

Xeno,
I think he was asking how to add a logo into the Mambo Header...  not the SMF header...

in which case, find the line in your mambo template that lists mosConfig_sitename (or something along those lines...  I can't recall the actual variable name of the top of my head)
and replace that with your logo img information.

I wasn't clear, I was refering to the Mambo template. Is this the section of code that you are refering to?

<td width="100%" style="padding-left:10px;"><a href="<?php echo $mosConfig_live_site;?>" title="<?php echo $mosConfig_sitename; ?>"><?php echo $mosConfig_sitename; ?></a></td>

I think it is, but I'm not sure which part of it get's replaced with the logo information.  Also, my logo is taller than the current header.  Will the template automatically adjust to the height or will it create havoc with the rest of the header?
Title: Re: 247portal Themes
Post by: Kindred on August 09, 2005, 05:51:40 PM
Well, I don't know your actual template... but it should just adjust the height to include the largest item.

yup...   replace:

<td width="100%" style="padding-left:10px;"><a href="<?php echo $mosConfig_live_site;?>" title="<?php echo $mosConfig_sitename; ?>"><?php echo $mosConfig_sitename; ?></a></td>

with

<td width="100%" style="padding-left:10px;"><a href="<?php echo $mosConfig_live_site;?>" title="<?php echo $mosConfig_sitename; ?>"><img src="logo.gif" alt="="<?php echo $mosConfig_sitename; ?>" /></a></td>

or something like that... you may need a directory in the call for logo.gif.

Also AMA's  theme "SMFone" could fit very nicely to 247 theme....

Im having some problems with my mambo theme such as the "Syndicate" section having its "RSS Feed" and the rest buttons not assuming the correct position the first time my page loads ( that is the  vertical length of the Syndicate space that accomodates them is too short and the buttons  go over its lower limit,if i reload though everything is ok!!!).

Bogie,
I had same problem.

If you want to use the anchor tag to provide the link, you need to add "border="0" to suppress the blue/white frame...
or remove the anchor tag altogether...

i am using 247 b black now with the corresponding theme for SMF
but if you look at www.juz-eggenfelden.de there seems to be something wrong
1) the search boxes (right now two of them coz i havent decided yet where to put them) don't work as soon as i click on forum and
2) as soon as you click on forum the fonts are different. i thought those themes where specially designed using the same CSS or something?

That is very strange. Did you alter the template itself? I have no problem with that on my site, neither have I seen any other sites with that particular problem.

I don't see it. What fonts are you talking about? The links, the messagetext or maybe the smaller text?

That has nothing to do with the theme but with the loginmodule. In mod_smf_login.php search for:

<td width="100%" valign="top" class="smalltext" style="font-family: verdana, arial, sans-serif;" align="'.$smf_align.'">';

replace with:
<td width="100%" valign="top" class="mainlevel" align="'.$smf_align.'">';

If you didn't modify anything, where does the second searchbox on the righttop come from? Are you sure the searchmodule is set to be published on all pages?

Have you tried holding Ctrl, and rolling your mousewheel? ;)

You should be able to change the size of the font in the CSS file.

Open the file /Themes/Portalxxx/style.css and add this:

This is set in various classes of the template_css.css of the mambotemplate. SMF just uses the Mambo stylesheet.

So did anyone ever figure out why in internet explorer it is about 1 pixel short?  You can see it on my site at: http://cooleric.com/component/option,com_smf/Itemid,26/ or any other site.  The strange thing is that in Firefox it displays perfectly.  I hate it when it works in one and doesnt in another, very annoying.

How come when I access the forums independently with these themes and go to make a post or send a PM the table continually grows wider and wider.  This screen shot was only after about 5 seconds.  It eventually exceeds the width of the screen.

After testing, it appears to only happen in FireFox on a Mac.  I've tried all other browsers on Mac and it is fine and I've tried IE on a PC and it is fine.

It's posted above.  It looks like it's Firefox all together.  PC or Mac.  I just had one of my members report it.  See how above where it says "New Message" is wider than the row above it?  It continues to grow wider and wider.  Use Firefox and go to www.eliterides.com.  User: test  Pass: test.  Post a reply or compose a PM and the form field you type in grows and grows and grows.

Okay, I've seen the problem, but I have no idea where it is coming from. This must be a standalone issue, as it works in a wrapped forum.

I fixed the image above.  I didn't realize I had it in a restricted section.

Regarding the issue, I am no longer using a standalong forum.  However, I am using an .htaccess RewriteRule that takes anyone that accesses the forums directly to the wrapped forum.  I'm thinking that maybe it is only happening when users access it that way.

Example:

Forums (http://www.eliterides.com/forums) directly

Wrapped Forums (http://www.eliterides.com/component/option,com_smf/Itemid,175)

With the .htaccess file you get the same thing, however one is accessed directly.  Do you see it in both still?  I will double check when I get home as well.

No, I don't have this problem. I may be related to the fact that you are using 1.0.5, but you are the first to report this. Have you tried the default theme to see if the problem occurs there?

You could try this, I have no idea whether it will fix this issue but there may be a change. Copy the file Post.template.php to your Portal theme directory and find this line:

<textarea class="editor" name="', $context['post_box_name'], '" rows="', $context['post_box_rows'], '" cols="', $context['post_box_columns'], '" onselect="storeCaret(this);" onclick="storeCaret(this);" onkeyup="storeCaret(this);" onchange="storeCaret(this);" tabindex="2"', isset($context['post_error']['no_message']) || isset($context['post_error']['long_message']) ? ' style="border: 1px solid red;"' : '', '>', $message, '</textarea>

replace with:

<textarea class="inputbox" name="', $context['post_box_name'], '" rows="', $context['post_box_rows'], '" cols="', $context['post_box_columns'], '" onselect="storeCaret(this);" onclick="storeCaret(this);" onkeyup="storeCaret(this);" onchange="storeCaret(this);" tabindex="2"', isset($context['post_error']['no_message']) || isset($context['post_error']['long_message']) ? ' style="border: 1px solid red;"' : '', '>', $message, '</textarea>

This way the textfield is using Mambo's definitions.

For as far as I know there is a limit in displaying 'all' topics or messages. That could be the problem, again, try the default theme and see if this problem persists.

Actually, this is a very simple, but definately not a perfect solution. All that happens is that both themes are called by url, like

index.php?mos_change_template=247portal-b-blue&option=com_smf&Itemid=26?theme=8

However, this will not last longer then a session before it changes back to the default settings.

Title: Re: 247portal Themes

this actually should be very easy...

modify the template chooser module in mambo to call the SSI theme change functions...  That should set your SMF theme when you change the mambo theme...   then the only thing you have to do is associate each mambo theme with an SMF theme...

It appears the "All" function does not work in any theme, including the Default, when wrapped in the 247 themes.  Something must be throwing it off.  Where is the function for "All"?

Incredible! I've been using the 247SMF theme for quite a while, but have been having a few issues with it. This looks like exactly what I've been needing!

But I have a question before I break something (I seem to be good at that)... All the discussion in the thread seems to be referencing Mambo.. after all, it is in the Mambo/SMF board.. But would I be correct in assuming that these will work in a Joomla installation, as well (for the SMF, obviously, wrapped in a Joomla site)?

I'm currently running Joomla 1.0.3 Stable, SMF 1.1 RC1, Joomla-SMF Bridge 1.0.1b.

Would I need to update any of those in order to apply these themes to my installation of SMF?

Thanks so much for the help!

OK guys and gals, I'm new to this, so bear with me.

I have Joomla 1.0.2 and SMF 1.1RC1 with the latest bridge installed.

I have Joomla using the 247portal grey theme and it works great. However, I'm confused by how to use the themes posted in the beginning of this forum.

I have installed other themes using the thems installer in SMF without any problems, but when I try to install this theme, it does not work. Exactly what do I need to do to install it? Thanks!

NEVERMIND... For some reason the Portalcolor files were not there yesterday when I checked - just the links. They're there now... I've donwloaded and installed and it works great.
Title: Re: 247portal Themes

I've got this theme working great now.

One question, though.

The theme works great as long as it's wrapped in Joomla, but as soon as it becomes unwrapped it looks crazy.

Now, for the most part it stays wrapped. Clicking any link, even "opening in a new window" keeps it wrapped, but some search engines managed to index the in the smf subdirectory, which has it open without the wrapper.

Now this is a rare occurance, but something I'd rather avoid. Is there a way to make it force itself to stay wrapped? If not, is there a way for the entire style sheet to stick with the forum if it's unwrapped. It appears that the font info disappears when it's unwrapped and everything goes to IE's defaults.

My preference, of course, would be for the forum to stay wrapped 100% of the time (it already does 99% of the time).

My URL is: http://www.babieswithglasses.org You can click the forum link there and see it in its wrapped glory.

To see the forum unwrapped go to http://www.babieswithglasses.org/smf

Also, is there a way to add a link to the website's homepage at the top of the forum. The current "Home" link goes to the forum's home page. I'd like to have a "Forum Index" link and a "Home" Link, or get rid of those links all together and have them appear on the Joomla menu only.

xenovanis,

Thanks! That works great!

Thanks too for the great theme.

Now, for a follow-up. Could some code be created that will either present a clickable link or (preferebly) redirect the user instead of just stating "'Direct Access to this location is not allowed?"

EDIT: I found the redirect code in the same thread you referred me to. It works well. Thanks!
Title: Re: 247portal Themes

You can change the text "Direct Access to this location is not allowed" to a link, something like:

<a href="http://www.yoursite.com">Sorry, you are not allowed to access this section. Please visit our site at ...</a>

There were some attempts to redirect from this page, but for as far as I know none of them were succesfull and all ended up in a 500 Internal Server Error. You might want to search for "block access" within this board to find some more information.

}
and it works perfectly.

OK, I'll stop taking your thread OT now...

hi
great themes! I love them and so do my members
but i am recieveing many complaionts about the size of the text used on posts

how can I alter this to make it larger please?

Are you using this theme with mkportal? Please not that a lot of the stylesheet is stripped just to make it work with Mambo/Joomla and I'm not sure it will even work with MkPortal.

Font-size is not really defined, it looks like it's just using you portal fontsize.

Is there any way to make it so that when I change themes in Joomla (say red -> green -> gray) that the SMF theme changes as well ?

I haven't found a way to make it so, unfortunately. I'm sure there is a way, but it's probably not easy to accomplish.  :-\

one of these days, either I or someone else will get around to hacking the mambo theme changer to also do SMF...    until that time... no dice. :(

(it's not a high priority for me, since I onyl offer a single theme for my users)

What would happen if the SMF theme was merged with the Joomla theme ? Is that even doable ?

What I mean is one CSS file that contains all the settings for both Joomla & SMF

You''ll need to adjust and redefine most of the classes used in the SMF template files, if I understand your question correctly.

hmmm... a bunch of the themes do this already... moving all the CSS infromation into the mambo CSS file and getting rid of the SMF CSS completely (while wrapped).

It's actually the best way to handle it, since Firefox has some issues with an additional "head" section...
Title: Re: 247portal Themes
Post by: xenovanis on December 18, 2005, 05:59:21 PM
Actually, I think he is talking about changing the classes to Joomla classes, like .catbg to .sectiontableheader etc..
Title: Re: 247portal Themes
Post by: laser on December 20, 2005, 06:38:39 AM
Actually Kindred has a good handle ... what I meant was :

I know the members of my new site will want to choose between (to generalise) a red theme and a blue theme.  As many people have posted, you can change the Joomla template (using the Joomla Template Chooser) and the Joomla areas will change, but that won't change the chosen SMF template, so the users have to know to change the template in two places to make it look really good.

Do I accomplish this by simply moving all the SMF CSS stuff to the Joomla CSS ?, and deleting the SMF CSS template & files ?

Has this been done before ?
Title: Re: 247portal Themes
Post by: Kindred on December 20, 2005, 07:43:28 AM
yes...   all of my sites use only the mambo (or joomla) CSS file...

I tried to do that with the winterloon theme, but that's before I really figured out what I was doing. (I really need to revise that theme)
Title: Re: 247portal Themes
Post by: laser on December 20, 2005, 03:23:37 PM
OK, so I know I need to read a bit more about this, but is it just

- move the SMF CSS file contents into the Joomla CSS file
- delete the SMF CSS file
- tweak the settings to suit

Is that it ?
Title: Re: 247portal Themes
Post by: Kindred on December 20, 2005, 03:26:17 PM
no...   you will have to remove the call for the smf css file in index.template.php

It's soooooooo broad  that you can not see anything (scroll the screen WAY to the right and you'll come across all the text.

that problem is in the DEFAULT file Themes.template.php

See the fix in the combined readme!

There is someone who has alreayd made a number of re-coloured versions of the default theme...

And Xeno does not have to modify his package at all...   the modifications need to be made to the DEFAULT/Themes.template.php

and I mean the combined readme post that is stickied at the top of this board. :)

hmmm....   that definitely sounds like an actual SMF (not a bridge) problem...   report it in the general help section...

However, in the mean time, try this...   delete a theme from the middle... see if the previously "undisplayed" theme shows up now...  (because I have 3 themes (default, portal green and helios) loaded and all of them are selectable.)

So I screwed up.  I added the css line (Thank You Kindred for the help) ... but it still looked the same.  I went to the installed themes list and I had 2 green2 themes.  I deleted the 1.1 beta and selected default then I selected the portal green2 and All was fine.

Thank you both! (kindred and X)

first of all thanks for some realy great themes... I've been using the blue and green on different sites and my visitors love them...

this time though I have run into some problems... I'm not using a matching template for mambo since it's a WoW guild site, but I thought that the red one would look awsome... and it did... :P

The only problem I have is that while browsing the forum everything looks just great, but when someone tries to post a new message it becomes wider then the mambo space, pushing all my menu text to the left. I have tried changing the:
* The main post box - this makes it as wide as possible. */
.editor
{
width: 200;
}

in the style.css but nothing happens when I try to post, it still stays the same width...
It feels like it's some realy simple thing that I need to change, but I can't find it anywhere!

Hi there.

I'm using the PortalGrey-theme with my 1.1RC2 and Joomla 1.0.7. But I have a little problem (only a little I hope so).

I have installed the Joomla 247 Portal Broad template and your PortalGrey theme for SMF. But in the forum all text and text-colours (for links etc). are in a standard scheme. Also it seems to be Times as font. Looks not really good, as you can see here: http://www.gamesnarr.com/joomla/component/option,com_wrapper/Itemid,32/

Any idea what I can do that it uses the correct font?

Oh, so I have to use the bridge, otherwise it's not working? I'm using SMF for his own now... Not bridged with Joomla.
Title: Re: 247portal Themes
Post by: Kindred on January 24, 2006, 10:06:20 AM
These themes are intended to be used as part of the bridge.

Various things (like font, etc) are not defined in the SMF CSS file because they are already defined in joomla's CSS file.  The wrapper opens things in an Iframe...   which is like a new window (and is a bad design, IMO)...   which mens that the things that are not defiend are alsdo not being inherited from joomla, as they would with the bridge...

Title: Re: 247portal Themes how to change the header?
Post by: violator101 on January 27, 2006, 09:40:59 AM
Hi guys, thanks for the great work in making us non coders find it easier to work with joomla and smf integration! I am extremely happy with the 247 portal and the modified smf theme to match it! :D

I have been trying to just modify the joomla header (or banner area) so that I could place up a logo that stretches across the top of the joomla template. Something that will personalize my site.

here is a link to the site at the moment.

http://www.buymebay.com/joomla (http://www.buymebay.com/joomla)

All I have done is just use Paint shop to change the left right and middle part of the header so that they are white.

Having followed this thread I have tried to add an image into this space but it's not working very well!

Can anyone please help with modify the 247 broad violet joomla template so that I can place my own header in there.. I am happy to lose the space for banner advertising which I have seen some people use.

here is my site now (http://www.buymebay.com/joomla/templates/247portal-b-violet/images/as_it_is_now.jpg)

and here is how I would like it, i.e adding an image to the top of the template, I have not modified the index file or css, All I have done is to colour the images left.jpg, right.jpg and center2.jpg to white.

Is there a simple way of me being able to achieve this please?

(http://www.buymebay.com/joomla/templates/247portal-b-violet/images/as_i_would-like-it.jpg)

The index file is here:

Hi Community,

i am new to joomla and SMF. Everything is set up an running - BUT i need help  ;D

My joomla standard template is 247portal (yellow) I have a menu  to Community and from that to SMF-Forum.  If the User clicks Community or Forum the joomla-template changes to 247portal (red). I have also installed the 247portal-red-template for SMF.
If you click the Forum link everything looks cool and nice because the joomla template and the SMF-Template are both red. BUT: If you click a forum or a post the color of the Joomla Template changes to default - the yellow template, the SMF-template is still red. How can i change/edit the joomla-template to remain red like the SMF?
Thanx for your answers

???

1- you do not seem to have the bridge installed...   the forum link in the top menu calls for http://www.b3rx.com/external/forum.html
going to http://www.b3rx.com/index.php?option=com_smf
tells me that the page does not exist....

in addition...
2- You don't have the bridge login moduel installed...

3- you do not have a menu item for the forum component in the main menu...

Post by: b3rx on February 27, 2006, 09:11:16 AM
yes im aware of that. i dont want the bridge to be installed. i just want it in a wrapper.
Title: Re: 247portal Themes
Post by: Kindred on February 27, 2006, 12:00:14 PM
this template is intended to be used with the bridge.

In addition, using the wrapper in mambo/joomla opens an iframe... and SMF does NOT do well in an iframe.

ok. so do you have an alternative theme of 247portal that isnt intendend for the bridge?

Sorry to barge in!

I am using the orange portal version of this great template (great work trhere!) and I am also using text main menu instead of buttons because of the multiple languages. My problem is that the menus come out like this:

English menu:

HOMEHELPSEARCHADMINPROFILEMEMBERSONLINELOGOUT

Portuguese Menu:

HOMEAJUDAPESQUISAADMINPERFILMEMBROSONLINELOGOUT

These are kind'a hard to read. ::)

Any chance of putting a space or more between the menu names?

Any help welcome.
Thanx

I think that is a CSS issue with the menu-bar....
Title: Re: 247portal Themes
Post by: cferd on March 06, 2006, 11:26:51 AM
Pax,

You may want to check your '247portal' index.template.php for $context['menu_separator'];
That should automatically place a "|" after every menu item. If not, check Load.php to make sure it's there.

Thnx for the help guys.

Only solution I could find was to edit the default templates' language strings. You know... the $txt[nnn] stuff and append spaces wherever I needed them.

Talk about standard coding, lol! :D

Hi there!  I'm having the same proplem.  I bridged fine Joomla 1.0.8 and SMF 1.1 RC2.  Anyone have any idea what's causing it?

Here is my site:  http://www.dragonboatassociation.ca/joomla (http://www.dragonboatassociation.ca/joomla)

I found the problem here...

go into the style.css file for the SMF theme that you installed...
find the entry for
.catbg
change it to read
.catbg, .catbg3

First I am very much a novice. I searched for forum but didn't happen upon a solution.
I use 247portal blue which looks great. But my sticky topics aren't "stickied" using the push-pin graphic?
And I am not sure what to look for to correct it?
Additionally when I sticky the topic it turns the boxes grey which I find distracting. So I would like to change the color but I am not sure where to edit for that function?

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Along the top of the forums where the top menu is, how can I change the wording of the buttons? ie. the HOME HELP SEARCH etc at the top?  The HOME sends you to the home of the forums but since I have links on the left menu and the top menu of Joomla called HOME that send you to the homepage of Joomla, I wanted to change it to say FORUM.

Thanks for your help.

I had the same problem and had to modify the style.css as indicated.  It would appear that there is no entry for ".catbg3" or ".windowbg3"

I added these to the style.css wherever I saw the .catbg2 and .windowbg2 entries.

Also to clear up the box around the graphics I also added the line

a img { border: 0; }

I am using PortalBlue2

Here are the updated lines:

Quote
/* TDH Added -to fix default dark grey for sticky/locked postings */
.windowbg3
{
   color: #000000;
   background-color: #ffffff;
}

/* TDH - Added .catbg3 */
.catbg td, .catbg2 td, .catbg3 td
{
     color: #ffffff;
     text-transform: uppercase;
     font-size: 11px;
     font-weight: bold;
}

/* TDH - Added .catbg3 */
.catbg a:hover, .catbg2 a:hover, .catbg3 a:hover
{
   font-weight: bold;
   color: #ffffff;
   text-decoration: none;
}

/* TDH - Added .catbg3 */
.catbg a:link, .catbg2 a:link, .catbg3 a:link, .catbg a:visited, .catbg2 a:visited, .catbg3 a:visited
{
   font-weight: bold;
   color: #ffffff;
   text-decoration: none;
}

a img { border: 0; }

Hi xenovanis,

is there am "247 orange theme" available that i can use unwrapped with my existing joomla installation.
If i use the smf with your 247portal Themes in "wrapped" mode the forum is too small...
I would like to run it unwrapped. If i do so the forum still stays small and tiny. Is there a way to edit this?

TIA

EDIT: I installed the latest version of portal-orange from your site and its "big" enough.  :)
How can i add the functions that the standard smf-theme provides to the portal-orange theme?
Like Banner, statistics etc.

Hello,

Just installed the template green2 broad with wrapped SMF 1.1 RC3.  I'm experiencing an oddity in the admin section on the green template.  I've installed the blue template broad and found that the problem vanishes...so the problem is specifically inside the green2 template.

anyway, I've attached 2 screenshots that shows you what the problem is.  The admin menu links appear outside of the table with green as opposed to inside with blue.  I've compared the stylesheets and noticed some differences with catbg, catbg2, catbg3 that are present in green but not in blue...wondering if these could cause it?

If anyone can point me in the right direction, I'd appreciate it.

OK, here's a weird one....I just upgraded my forum to 1.1RC3, and am running Joomla 1.0.11. I was already using the Portal Green2 wrapped and Orstio's 1.1.6 bridge. The forum looks fine while unwrapped, but now when I go to wrap it, I get a missing main menu, and no center column content or right column stuff. I've been futzing with it all day, and cannot figure out what is the issue. I'm using the same template that I've been using with 1.1RC2 (it was the RC3 version).

I loaded a new clean version of the template, in case there were modifications that I had forgotten that I'd made, but no go.

I'm running the site unwrapped right now. If you want to see it wrapped, drop me a pm, and I'll put it into wrap mode so you can see what its doing.

If anyone can help, I'd be pitifully grateful. I'm sure I'm overlooking something completely simple here, since this forum has been running wrapped for nearly a year using the Green2 portal template in SMF. Somehow, upgrading to 1.1RC3 broke it...

Thanks!

The site is http://www.gotmead.com.

OK, running my *old* copies of the 1.1RC3 Portal Green2, backed up on 9/25, before upgrading to RC3, and running 1.1.6 bridge. When I set the site to wrapped, I get my left column with no menu, the top stuff, but no right column, forum or bottom stuff.

I also get this error:

8: Use of undefined constant FF_DIE - assumed 'FF_DIE'
File: /hsphere/local/home/meadwenc/gotmead.com/components/com_facileforms/xtdratings/plugin/plugin.xtdratings.functions.php
Line: 660

Obviously this is referring to my facileforms, but it worked just fine before upgrading the forum.

Is anyone else using these themes and having problems using img tags?

When I type this: [img]http://www.gotmead.com/tavernwench.jpg[/img]

It shows this in the post when previewed (and when posted):
[img=http://www.gotmead.com/tavernwench.jpg]http://www.gotmead.com/tavernwench.jpg[/img]

So, we can't attach images. This is just since the upgrade to 1.1RC3.

Anyone else have any ideas? I'm totally stumped here...

HI Xenovanis

The links in this thread no longer work. I am looking for the 247 theme version most appropriate for SMF 1.1 bridged with Joomla 1.0.11

Are there any changes needed from the RC2 version??

Cheers

I've just noticed Xenovanis is on hiatus is there any one else able to make recommendations about the 247 portal themes?

Are there any changes to SMF from RC2 to 1.1.1 that would create problems for the portal blue theme that I have installed now?

I am happy to do my own leg work and code changes but I have no concept of what to check for compatibility.

Any tips hugely appreciated.

yes, there are some pretty major changes between rc2 to rc3 to 1.1final

look in the graphics and templates section... there is a sticky post with the changes required for rc3 to 1.1 and in that thread, there is a link to the rc2 to rc3 changes.

I don't suppose that there is a 1.1RC3 version out? I'm using the 1.1RC3 Beta version of PortalGreen2, and having some minor issues, that I thought might have been updated. I saw that the uploads in the first post were updated as of January, so I'm checking....

download and installed. the first impression is very cool, and might get inspired from Linux.
