Hi,

First I have to admit I know nothing about MySQL...

Eddited out my initial post since I did end up importing my one database into the SMF one instead of setting the old forum up on the new server and then converting - which made that portion of the post irrelevent. Still need Conversion for Dummies though!

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Especially in a "dumbed down" version - Conversion for Dummies!

Thanks in advance!

Okay - I amnaged to import my data base dump from IBP into my SMF data base. I also copied a config_gobal.php file that I saw in other post and also added it to my SMF directory.

I then get this message: Sorry, the database connection information used in the specified installation of SMF cannot access the installation of Invision Power Board. This may either mean that the installation doesn't exist, or that the MySQL account used does not have permissions to access it.

The error MySQL gave was: Incorrect table name 'ibf_members'

I am converting from IBP v1.2 RC 2

Help!

Oh - here is the post where i got the settings from: http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=146211

I am also sorry for bumping in less than 24 hours but I thought the additional information might be useful.

Install SMF and IPB in the same database.

Hi! I do have the two databases merged - I imported a dump of my IBP database into my SMF one. But I still get the error.

Thankss.

Did you set the correct database information in the config_global.php file?  Prefix and everything?

Hi! I am sorry for my late reply. Yes, I did change everything, including the correct preface. I double checked them agianst the ones in SMF just to make sure they were the correct settings.

If the database name and everything else its ok it should work.

But it doesn't... :( It doesn't like my table names I guess... I am slowly moving the pertinent posts over by hand. Which is could become a good thing as we had quite a few that could be deleted...

Now this may seem like a very dumb question... but how do I remove stuff from my database?
