New PbP RPG MOD!!

Yeah, I know, I started a thread like this like...oh I don't know....four years ago?  Well, I'm very happy to announce that Phase I is now just about completed.  You can check out the current feature list and give it a spin (if your into Gaming that is) at my site.

Currently I am in the Beta testing phase and I want to make sure ALL of the kinks are worked out before I release it.  Look for the official release to come sometime in mid-April.

Please Note: This is a Play by Post RPG system, meaning that multiple members get together on a board and play a game...telling a story which may or may not include dice rolls.  A second Phase is schedule to be release probably near third quarter 2007 that tackles issues such as Member Combat types of RPGing.

Also note:  That this mod piggy backs on the wonderful work of TechnoDragon (I'm not sure if that's his name here or not) for his Avatar Maker MOD, which must be installed first before any of the player functions will work properly.

 Obviously I'm pleased to hear the good news you've posted...however...I've just posted to the Avatar Maker Mod topic on which your mod will depend to say that it has bugs and won't work for me on a fresh install of SMF 1.1.2 on a domain running php 5.2.1 I hope that bug will be resolved quickly as if it is not your own mod won't be usable by me or others with a similar forum/domain configuration (not sure if the problem is with the php version or the SMF version.)

TechnoDragon, the member on my forum, who created the Avatar Maker will be sure to read that thread as well.

Yes, please report any bugs that are found...what you tried to do would really help out a lot.  Also if you get any error messages, those help greatly as well (especially from the Forum Error Log).

We (TechnoDragon and I), are fixing bugs like crazy, and from what we can tell, both Mods are farily stable, so I thank you for any additional information you can give regarding your issues.

Sure can.  I've setup basic instructions and a bug list on my board to handle mostly the RPG bugs, but I'll also try to handle the Maker bugs as well, should any come up.

I run a portal for my rpg system and i am not sure if the users would like to play by post, but i would give it a try if you need beta-testers.

Required:
- avatar / name based on board
- character stats page (with lots of customisable stuff so it can be used for all rpg)
- dice roll mod that's quite universal, maybe opens in a popup and posts to the forum / a dice roll stat page

We were working on a dice bot for irc (and my game), and our next project would be to code a universal dice system (java based) that could be used for boards, irc, websites, character generators, etc. we already have a syntax for it, but i lack the coders to script it.

If you would like to adopt it, let me know

All of those features you have mentioned are already included!  In fact, you can have the *same* character playing in two (or more) different games) but have completely different stats!  I've done this with my Skuld character in my Anime Collision! RPG (specific post) and Urd's Sake House RPG (specific post) on my board.  These two games use completely different game systems, but I am able to use this same character in both games simultaneously...even have the same named stats (like Health or XP, if I wanted to), and each would be identified to that game board.

TechonoDragon wrote the dice roller and it appears to be working perfectly, although, I will admit, I really don't use dice in my RPGs anymore.

It's not ready for download yet.  Currently it's in BETA status.  Feel free to play around with it on the site.  (If there's enough interest, I'll setup a test game with those interested as GM's).

I do have a small question, this is a complete Post for Post type of RPG correct?

Also, another question, will members be able to keep up with their stats?

I probably could have asked this on your forum, but yeah.  I'm really not used to Post for Post RPGs, although I do know that some of my members do play them.

I have to say that what I've seen so far looks AWESOME, and I feel that perfection takes time, and I must say that you're doing an awesome job perfecting this mod!!
