Referrer system

I'd think that it would be really cool if SMF can have a referrer system.
What do you guys think ?

There is a released affiliate mod in the customization section. Somewhere around here there is a mini-referral system that some people have tried but it isn't an official modification. A search may turn it up for you.

I'm after something that's really lightweight. Something that just allows users to generate a personalised affiliate/referrer link that they can then post to forums, send out via email, etc. and when the person referred arrives and either (a) just visits or (b) signs-up, they get a point for that in their account (perhaps 1 point for a visit, 5 points for a sign-up).

Anything like this out there?

Thanks for those. I found the "Invite" mod, but it's not what I'm after. Could be perfect for some folks, though, so thanks for including a link to that.

I'll take a look at the Referrer mod; looks more like what I'm after. I see that YodaofDarkness has updated it for more recent versions of SMF.

I also see that it has a 60 day cookie. How can I extend that?

Wo-hoo! Yep, it looks as if the Referrer Mod is what I'm after!

heh, karl did most of the coding on that particular mod, I just took it over when he couldn't support his five hundred mods
