There has been numerous post on this issue but I think the question was not clear enough (based on the answers posted to the questions).

So here we go...

Is there a way to "Moderate" or approve a "Guest" post before it goes live. Lots of blogging software (including blogger from Google) have this feature. When you post something as a guest you can a message something like this: "Your post will go live when the moderator or site owner approves your message".

Of course the reason is to prevent "Spam".

Please keep in mind... (I'm writing this, because these were the answers people here on SMF gave for this problem.)

We do want "Guest" to have permission to post. Lots of site visitors are sign up shy.

The image verification will not help because we had live people posting not jus spy bots.

I have read in one of the post here on the SMF board that the next version will have this feature. Is this correct?

SMF 2.0 does include post moderation features by default. Unfortunately there isn't any such feature for SMF 1.1 at the moment

Is that the next version? When is it coming out?

Gary

2.0 is the next version yes. A date for release isnt exactly planned. :P

OK... I'll wait it out.... Don't want to switch to smothing else. SMF is the best of all open source boards.
