SMF Version: SMF 1.1.3
Hi, today the smf website seemed to be down for a while and it's still responding very slow from The Netherlands. My fresh installed forum is therefore also loading very slow. I think it has something to do with my forum showing live news and packages. Tried to disable this but cannot find any option to do this.. Searched the forum but can't find any related topic.. Who knows what to do???

Your admin center tries to get javascript files from this site. In future versions you shouldn't have that problem.

There might be something around on the forums. Search - I know there are a lot of posts about it around. I am just not sure where.

I'm really a searcher before posting type. Just don't seem to find any related article..

SMF only talks to simplemachines.org when on certain pages in the admin area. If it is slow on other pages the cause lies somewhere else.

You can stop smf fetching javascript by running this query with phpmyadmin:

REPLACE INTO smf_settings (variable, value) VALUES ('disable_smf_js', 1)

You may need to change smf_settings to something else if smf_ isn't your prefix.

What is phpMyAdmin?
