This is a fantastic template - well done on such an excellent creation. I installed this in minutes and it fits perfectly with our football club message board site. If you want to take a look to see it in action then it is here;

hxxp:www.wittonalbion.co.uk/Boardroom/index.php [nonactive]

We are a small football club in North West England, but for a small club we have an active forum. We play in Red so don't even have to change the colour scheme!

I have a few questions to you but also to anyone else in the forum I am sorry if I am repeating anything and also that I am very new to SMF;

1; Previous and Next Links; are these not embedded into your template or have I missed something. I have the function selected in the topics settings. Is this something that you plan to add or is there any easy way anyway can explain this to me?

2; Logo; I also tried to add the logo and it pushed the nav and log-in out of line. I am guessing this is a reasonably easy fix but I don't know enough about how to do it?

3; Nav Menu; Is there any easy way to add further links into this menu. For example I would like to add a link back from the forum to the main website home page? May also want to add a further one or two links in this nav menu?

4; Disappearing Heading; The first board in our list is called First Team, when you click into a post and then hit the back button this first heading disappears, all the other ones are there. I have checked that it is nothing to do with the collapse settings. It is strange, if you refresh the page it will reappear but it is not there if you hit the back button. I am using IE7 so maybe it is a browser issue.

Any replies to the above would be very gratefully received - rushing to finish our web site before the new football season starts at the weekend, your template was found just in time.

Amazing work at an incredibly high standard. Thanks for the many hours you have saved me and for making our site look so much better.

Cheers

Further update; the missing first board heading when hitting the back button appears to be an issue in IE only, tried it now in FF and it works fine (as usual FF being less quirky).

Thanks again

My question: I'm not seeing the icons/buttons associated with "reply", "mark unread", etc...am I missing something? On my mac I just get question marks and on my pc I get a little box with a red X. Did I miss a file when I was downloading?

I had this same issue and worked out it was incorrect paths to the pictures, in other words the pictures are not in the location where they are supposed to be. This can be fixed easily as the pictures/images/buttons do exist. Fro memory I think the pics were in folders called images and buttons but in the path they were being looked for in the english folder. All I did was find the file name, make a copy of it and put it in the folder the path was pointing to. I made a copy rather than moved it in case another part of the template was looking for it in the other place. Does that make sense?

THANK YOU!! That solved most of it. It still isn't finding a few of the images, but the problem seems to only be under the Help section now...all the important images are now linked correctly. Where does it say where it's pointing?

swestland

No probs, simplest way is to right click (assuming pc and not mac) and look at the properties of the image, then see if the image is in the directory where is it looking. If not find the image in another folder and copy it into the directory where it is looking - easier than trying to change the path in any of the scripts!

U are genius eren no need of wordpress or any other blog software u changed the whole look of SMF with bloggy. now I dont have words to say. Its like u gave new dimensions, possibilities.

I love your themes I have 1 request Please consider making 1 natural theme.
many of your themes are all sophisticated and have everything so also make 1 with natural elements like

I am now using corto if u go to the footer u can see freen grass there looks lovely
www.omsites.com/omsaigan

see u soon with some theme which has fresh greenery and lovely flowers and cool ponds of water, not animated but the original real pics taken from nature. just put them in header and footer and then the nature lovers will be happy. hehe.

First off, love your theme. Great job.

I'm using SMF 1.1.3 and Alak 1.03. Here's the issue. I'm logged in. If I go to the Info Center and click "View the most recent posts on the forum.", on the page that it brings up I'm missing -

alak-1/images/english/reply_sm.gif
alak-1/images/english/quote.gif
alak-1/images/english/notify_sm.gif
alak-1/images/english/delete.gif

I'm not sure about other missing gifs, but I took the all the images that were in the classic/images/english folder dumped them into alak-1 for now.

Hello, I love your theme but I'm not quite sure how to add additional links.

I have

// The [staff list] button
      echo '<li><a class="staff' , $current_action == 'staff' ? ' active' : '', '" href="', $scripturl, '?action=staff">' , $txt['smfstaff_stafflist'], '</a></li>';

This links me to the staff page correctly however the bar under the link does not change color, it stays on home. I'm not sure if a class="staff" is correct (prob not) so I'm wondering if you can provide additional instructions on how you constructed the link. Thanks.

Great theme. Nothing else describes it!

Some comments;

Does the theme ignore the setting of enabling the Calendar or am I missing something? I have had to comment out the lines to show the Calendar in the top menu.

Has anyone created a visually stronger division between each board on the main board list? To me it appears to blend too much between the board icon and the following board.

Lastly, do you have plans to upgrade the theme for SMF 2.0 when released?

Impressive theme and thank you for your contribution to the SMF forum.

netridge

Nice theme,  :D

just a few questions. Will the ad mod work with this theme.
AND
Can I add a logo or image were the text now resides. Thanks awesome theme, I am going to use it once I add a few images.

Suzuko

I just installed this theme on a brand new SMF install, and after creating categories and boards, and membergroups, and changing a few settings, the forum error log ran to over 20 pages of errors, most of which read as follows:

---------------

2: Wrong parameter count for str_replace()
File: /home/xxxxx/public_html/xxxxxxx.com/forum/Themes/default/Admin.template.php (eval?)
Line: 132

---------------

8: Undefined index: forum_meta
File: /home/xxxxx/public_html/xxxxxxxx.com/forum/Themes/default/Admin.template.php (eval?)
Line: 70

---------------

I tried using Forum Maintenance to find and fix errors (none found), and "Recount all forum totals and statistics" resulted in an endless loop and many more pages of the above error messages.

In fact any action I take on this forum results in many more of these same error messages in the error log.

I sure would appreciate some help to solve this.

Suzuko

Now I have 85 pages of the above error messages, and all I've done so far is finish setting up the various categories and boards, post two messages, and register the first three or four members.

Everyone loves the look of the theme, but what is it with the glut of error messages?

Suzuko

Well I've been playing around with this theme a bit to try and figure out what is the problem.

I forgot to mention above that I do not have a "Members" link in the navigation area.

I switched the forum back to the default SMF theme and cleared the error log and used it for a while. No errors were generated during that time.

Then I re-uploaded and re-installed Alak, in case something got corrupted on the way in, and switched the forum back to the Alak theme.

Within an hour, the error log had many pages of the same error messages pasted in my earlier post. I guess this means the problem is theme-related.

I don't have the brains to figure out how to fix this, and haven't found any other help. Hoping someone knows something here....

Oh I figured it out, oh I'm so stupid.
