so show it where.

You can turn it on to show it in the information center (at the bottom of the board index) via

Admin > Current Theme (from left side menu) > Themes And Settings Tab

Number of recent posts to display on board index: 
To disable the recent posts bar set this value to zero.

If you want to show recent posts on your website (outside of smf, then you can use SSI)
