Deleted messages from users

I have had to delete some messages on my forum but what i realize now is that they are 100% gone, i thought at first they went to a basket or something like that.

is there any way i can keep deleted messages to be read just by administrators and moderatos but not anymore from the normal users.

Admin ==> Boards ==> Settings

Click 'Enable recycling of deleted topics'

And set the board ID of the forum you want them to go to.  Make sure it's only accessible to Admins and Mods.

Why not restore from a forum backup if messages are lost like that? You should do one daily. In addiction to what selorian theres not much you can do.
