Random Image in Index Default Theme?

Is there a (simple) way (MOD?) to put random images in my main default theme? I saw one in Tiny portal but I do not want to use Tiny Portal, only the SMF Default Theme.

It shouldn't be difficult, as long as you have the code to display a random image someplace.

Or how can  at least I start with a frame in Default Theme where I can manually choose the image?
