Hi! :)

I'm using SEF Advance together with Mambo 4.6.2 and Mambo-SMF Bridge 1.1 and SMF 1.1.4.

Everything works well except that everytime when I log into my main page(Mambo frontend page) and select forums to get re-directed to forums,I get this error:

http://www.xxxxxxx.com/forums/index.php?option=com_smf&action=login2&sa=check&member=1

8: Undefined index: Itemid
File: /var/www/html/components/com_smf/smf.php
Line: 789

I have turn off SEO for my SMF forum.I only turn on for my mambo page and SEF advance that is installed on my Mambo.

Any advise please?  :( Do help...this error is repeating itself in my forum error log everytime I select redirect.

Thanks a million in advance ...

Do you mean you have turned off SEFAdvance for the bridge component?

A real URL would probably be helpful.

Thank you for the URL.

Your problem is quite simply that you installed SMF in a folder named "forums", and then named the alias in SEFAdvance also "forums".  The server doesn't know whether to serve up SMF's index.php that it finds there, or to use the rewrite from SEFAdvance.

When using these advanced SEF options, you should never install the forum in a folder with the same name you are going to use as the SEF alias.

Did you create a menu item for the bridged forum?  Did you create a Component menu item, or a Link - URL item?

I have created a new Link-URL item to link to my forums. It's still there. The Component menu item for forums have been deleted away together with its alias in SEF Advance... The error still continues to multiply everytime I try to get transfer over from my mambo homepage to my forums via the Link-URL item... :(

I seem to realise a pattern in the error coming out...

Whenever I log in via mambo homepage and the verification of my username takes place at the url:

http://www.mywebsite.com/index.php?option=com_smf&Itemid=&action=login2

and from there,I click on the Link-URL(Forums) to get transferred over to the forums, the error will appear in my forum error log.

However,if I create another extra component menu link(SMF Bridge) to be on the same menu as the Link-URL(Forums),the verification of my url this time takes place at a different url(whether I click on the link URL or component menu link, the verification URL is the same):

http://www.mywebsite.com/index.php?option=com_smf&Itemid=41&action=login2

And this time,no errors are generated at all in my forum error log

So how do I go about resolving this?I don't want to create an extra menu component there just to ensure verification URL is via:http://www.mywebsite.com/index.php?option=com_smf&Itemid=41&action=login2 and no errors are generated as a result of this.

I want the verification of URL to be via http://www.mywebsite.com/index.php?option=com_smf&Itemid=&action=login2 and no errors are generated and no extra menu component needs to be created.

Is there any solution??Pls advise :( Thanks a million in advance
