We recently upgraded to 1.1.4 and now my members sometimes get this error when they try to upload an attachment:

Sorry! There is already an attachment with the same filename as the one you tried to upload. Please rename the file and try again.

I told them it must be an overwrite protection thing, but is there a way to make the forum simply rename the attachment being uploaded? I can't find any info on this anywhere.

Also, some say when they right click on a photo in the forum they go to Save As and it says the target could not be found or something of the sort. It won't let them save the pic from the forum.

Can someone help?

As the folder attachment is a single folder, files with the same name will conflict.

Enable Encrypt stored filenames in Attachment settings should eliminate this issue.

I had it set like that once but the members said they couldn't right click a photo to save it to their hard drive because it couldn't find the file ... ?

Well that is currently the only way to have it so you can upload file of the same name.  If you don't have this on, they'll need to rename them something different, maybe add numbers to the end of the name moving up.  But keeping track might be an issue.

They have to lift-click to open the file and then right-click and save.  You might not be able to right-click the link directly, or make sure they select save target-as.

Well, the encryption worked, and we can also right click on the pic and save it to our hard drives. I'm not sure why it wouldn't let us before, just said it couldn't find the file. All seems well and good now though. Thanks!
