User struggling with her messages

I'm dealing with a fellow board member (I'm not the admin, just another user, but the admin either can't or won't help) who's having problems with her PM inbox in SMF 1.1.4. In her words, the problem she has goes like this:

QuoteIt's only my (main) account. It only happens when I send PMs somehow
related to my inbox (if I click on a name from the 'who's online' and
send a pm from the bottom of their profile, no problem). But if I do
send one from my inbox, it does send...it just hangs up my screen. It
will say "waiting" in the bottom left corner, and just spin and spin
and spin. I have to close out all of my firefox windows, restart,
logoff ... log back in and start all over again. It also deletes
messages, but only if I do all the above steps.

So as I understand it, she can't reply to messages already in her inbox; however, she can initiate a PM via the link at the bottom of other members' profiles. Deleting messages has also turned arduous for her.

She says she only has about 2-1/2 pages' worth of messages in her inbox. And she tried using another browser (in this case IE), but had the same result.

My friend is not the most techologically proficient person I know. Any help y'all can provide would be most welcome. :)

Try to get her to delete your browser cache/cookies and then visit the forum again.  Then get her to login and see if the issue continues.

How refreshing to see a 'help' request that includes the necessary information  required to assist someone in helping them! The only thing missing, which you probably wouldn't know, is what Mods are installed.

I can only concur with Rumbaars advice.  ;)

Sent her an e-mail with those instructions, waiting to see results.

(Well, I wasn't going to send them to her in a PM. :D )

Thanks!

And she said it made things worse:

QuoteYeah, I did that. Now I can't even get my PMs to open.

We're going backwards here.

OK, now what?

Can she try an alternate browser?  Also are you able to get her login details and try from your end (which works) and see if it's client side specific.
