This should of been posted in the authors support topic but I will help you. Have you installed the package onto your server and in the admin panel does it show "Ad Management Mod"?

Sorry about that mate...... yes i have installed the package and yes i can see the "ad management mod" Its just im not sure where to post the code as a few friends have told me it needs to be put in more than one place.

If you can help i would be grateful.

Go into the Ad Management settings and there will be a area for you to enter them. If you need help using it, ask in the mod's topic for more assistance.

NEO-BAHAMUT-

Thanks for that mate but i know that i have to enter the code somewhere... where abouts do i enter the script code.  What pages do i need to enter the code and where abouts do i need to enter the code???

Why ask in the mods topic if there is already a thread about it here???... i have already apologised that this thread is in the wrong topic.

Can someone please help me with this

Thanks

Did you go into SMF->Admin->Ad Management? It should be self explanatory from there.

Why post in that mod's topic? Because this is for General Support. Why do you think we have those mod topics created in the first place? So they can get the proper attention by the author or other users who use it....you will get better support from those familiar with it ;)

NEO-BAHAMUT-

Right mate i have gone to my forum>Admin>Ad management and added my google code to it and named it "google ads"...... to the right hand side i can "modify" my ads. If i click on that i get the following...

Name - Google Ads
Content - This is the script code of the ads that i have recieved from google which i assume needs pasting in to my index page or something somewhere.
Then below this there are numerous tick boxes asking where i want my ads to be placed. I have ticked where i want the ads to appear but they dont. Thats why im thinking that i need to insert the code somewhere on my pages to be able to see it.

Am i wrong?

greyknight17

Yes, just copy/paste the Google Ads code into that textbox.

Did you also go to Admin->Permissions to make sure that Ads are enabled for those specified groups?

NEO-BAHAMUT-

Yes i have given the permissions to all groups and ticked where i want the ads to show up. Should that be all i have to do?????

My mate was telling me that you need to copy in to the source of the pages apparently... is that needed.

greyknight17

Nope. The mod will insert it for you....

Do you know if your ad code works? Give it a quick test. Open a blank notepad file and copy/paste your entire Google Adsense code into it. Save it as "test.html" (with the quotes intact) and open it with your browser. See if you can view the ads.

NEO-BAHAMUT-

Yes the code is working fine in a text document saved as a html file..... This is really starting to annoy me now. Im not using the default skin if that helps.... im using the PSP fixed theme. I dont know what im doing wrong.

greyknight17

That could be the problem. Most mods are made to work on the default theme only. You will need to edit some of the PSP theme template files manually (if it applies). Use the SMF Package Parser and click on Browse to locate your mod file. Select the Theme Edit option only. Then click on Send file. It will tell you exactly what to do there to install the mod.

NEO-BAHAMUT-

I have been  looking at that the past few hours but cannot seem to understand it properly. I know its a ball ache mate but is there any chance of you doing a test forum for me and copying the code in to make sure it works with the same theme as mine then maybe you can tell me where i need to copy the code etc

greyknight17

Did you try it out yet? Where are you getting stuck? You only need to select the Theme Edit option. Then go inside the PSP Theme folder and only edit those files that exist for that theme. Otherwise, the edits are already done (on the default theme).

NEO-BAHAMUT-

Yes mate i have followed what it says in the SMF Package Parser. There is a few bits of code what isnt actually in the PSP theme what it says i need to replace so im not sure if im doing it correctly. This is beginning to become a right ball ache.

greyknight17

Attach the file that you are having problems with. I will take a look at it and see what we can modify to make it work.

i also have the same probem. it seem a lot of codes there im not with. i modified my own theme. i cannot find those mentioned int the parser. please help
