My theory now is that the converter was written for 2.0, not 2.x, but I'm just guessing. We put up the WBB board again for the time being. It would be great if you came up with something (need a database dump?); if not, we'll try the  route via phpBB.

Hmm... ok.  I'm going to have fun "getting down" with the wBB database schema.

As to the versions, I suspect (emphasis on suspect, really) it is even more complicated.

There are various versions above 2 and I believe 2.0.x is quite different to 2.1.x .

Well, in an attempt to clean up the database for [Unknown], I butchered my database, and my co-admin and I are still trying to restore it (don't ask), so I can't send it right now anyway.

ETA: mf, maybe you meant the UBB board I mentioned a couple of days before? That isn't mine, I'm just a user, but yes, it is huge.

Just a general suggestion, no matter which converter is made, or maybe none at all: Maybe this thread could be split into one for wbb 1.x/ Lite and 2.x , as it is a bit confusing at first.

Against all odds, we have managed to restore our little board. We wouldn't mind waiting for the converter a bit longer as long as it will be made eventually. Especially as we believe there is a huge potential of convertees from there (no matter which version, btw.). Trust me on that one. Database is on the way. (Until now, we had no clue whether the dump was complete or not, as importing kept failing.)

ETA: Grudge, maybe you could confirm the exact version you wrote the converter for, just to make sure that we shouldn't try it again and maybe it would work?

Yeah, I know!

In the meantime, I'm trying to figure out for which version the existing converter does work, so at least one group might be happy.

In that vein, someone posted in the German forum:

They tried to convert a WBB 2.2.1. Forums and "number of threads" (?) were converted, members and postings are missing. (Hm, it would be better the other way around...)

My theory still is: The converter is for 2.0.x !

i'm after a wbb convertor as well! i'm running:

Burning Board 2.1.4

i'll do a test install with the one's that are done allready soon and post the results up here! am i right in thinking that the conversions script is actually in the setup for SMF and i don't need to download anything extra?

Okay, so just so everyone's understanding each other....

The data I received from Winters (in bb1?) is for 2.1.x, right?  (I don't want to do this five more times .)  There were bb1_*, bb2_*, and english_* tables...

Edit: And, I have confirmed that the data I used to intially create it was 2.0.1 (and I tested it with wBB Lite 1.0.)
