Welcome Topic

i installed this, and it works... BUT. if i set it up with {username}, it posts the welcome message to {username} instead of the name of the person who joined.

it's also saying that the thread was created by guest.

i'm a little dense today. i'm not sure what i'm doing wrong.

I have had this mod installed and working fine for months now. Now all of a sudden it no longer creates the welcome topic for new members. I have SMF 1.1.4

Nice mod.. but is there any way to notify user for whom the topic is created.. ie. somehow get his attention.. may be subscribing him to that topic ?

Well.. it will really increase its worth 2X

ricky, i solved the problem of new users not seeing the topic created for them by denying access to the arcade until they've made a few posts!

Do you have Member Approval/Email Activation or anythink like that Enabled? Or delete Account Approval too. We will need more information so they could help you better and quicker.

Yes it currently does not check if it was already had a welcome topic. Like if you approve a member then they have to activate it will create two topics.

Have you done any upgrade or replaced any files?

If not I would try to uninstall and then reinstall the mod.

This has been a great mod - I have used it for some time with no problems.
Now that membership has slowed down I decided to remove it.
It removed the board but I still have the "Welcome Configuration' option in Admin / Configuration
Can you advise how to remove it from the configuration list?

That's from Subs.php but you should use the uninstall function to remove the mod.

I did use the uninstall function.
But it is still listed in configuration in admin (left column "Welcome Configuration')

NP.. doing so..  this is almost nothing for what you did by making nice things for ppl using smf !

Yes you can under Welcome Configuration you can add as many messages as you want then it randomly picks a message to show.

I have uninstalled the mod and reinstalled it and done some of the edits manually!!  And it's working Perfectly!!! Thanks for your help!!!
