Instructions for converting from phpbb2 to smf needed.

a friend is asking me over msn how to upgrade from phpbb2 to smf, being that i never did i before i don't know how and he says their isn't a readme file. 

can someone help?

Because there aren't already enough threads on doing this

Tell them to install a copy of SMF, upload the converter to the SMF directory and then follow the instructions in the converter. Tell them to ensure they either install SMF into the same database as phpBB (Obviously with a different prefix), or that the mySQL user in the SMF database can see the phpBB database (Former idea is easier if they are only a basic user).
