As I'm sure most of you have noticed by simply checking your 'Awaiting Activation' section, SMF registration emails that go to yahoo and hotmail accounts are automatically sent to the spam folder.

I request a screen that simply says something like 'if you do not receive the registration email, please check your spam folder' in big letters that comes up right after registration.

And perhaps contacting the moron yahoo/hotmail companies telling them to fix their spam filters >:(

That, and an option to resend the mail, would be good features to have.

Yes, I support the idea of Manually Resend the activation e-mail by Admin. Of course, give us the option of re-sending such an e-mail to ALL awaiting members at one click.

Thanks.

It says but not with big letters.

../Themes/default/languages/Login.english.php

Find:

$txt['activate_after_registration'] = 'Thank you for registering. You will receive an email soon with a link to activate your account.  If you don\'t receive an email after some time, check your spam folder.';

Replace:

$txt['activate_after_registration'] = 'Thank you for registering. You will receive an email soon with a link to activate your account.  <span style="color: #FF0000; font-size: 24pt; font-weight: bold;">If you don\'t receive an email after some time, check your spam folder.</span>';

Now nobody can miss that.

Eliana Tamerin:

Actually we have that feature. But only available when a not activated member tries to login with his correct username and password. ?action=activate;sa=resend; does that. This should do the trick:

Revised the codes. Check it here:

As a note, there is a link in the header for all guest accounts that, in English, says "Did you miss your activation email?". This goes to a page that allows the member to request a new e-mail.

Also, administrators can send out reminder e-mails with activation links through the administrative area of SMF.

To add, send activation feature for admins is under:

Admin CP >> Members >> Awaiting Activation area.

Are you sure thats the right directory? Can't find that file . . .

All I can find is Register.template.php, but it's in another directory and not the same . . .

Sorry, it should be Login.english.php. :)

Edited the post above too.
