Sounds perfect  :D :D

Thanks for making this mod, its gold

I've installed this mod on two different machines with the same result. The blog control panel only shows for the admin.

This question was posted several times already, but I don't see an answer. What do I need to do for the control panel be visible for regular users. I already inspected all the files an it appears that all the modifications are there.

Both installs were clean with default theme. SMF 1.1.5 with Blog 1.11 mod.
The admin user has no issues. Control panel is there, and can create/delete/modify blogs and categories.

Charles Hill

The ordinary user's blog control panel is accessible via their Profile.  You have to enable the blog mod in multiple blogs mode for them to be able to use it AND they have to have the write_blog permission.

I will start looking at what it would take to convert this mod to smf 2.0 compatible.  I don't think it'd be too difficult.   Version 1.12 of this mod for SMF 1.1.x is almost done by the way :)

Sounds great  ;D  looking forward to the new version ;)

[unplugged]

Very nice looking mod. I am looking forward to the release of the SMF 2.0 compatible version.

Installed the mod with much success and got it working.  One question/possible problem I'm experience is with the Blog Index.  I read in one of the first posts in the thread that the ability to display avatars in the board index was built in.  When I go to view my board index I do not see my members avatars.  Is there a setting else where I need to make sure is enabled before seeing the avatars?

Yes you will have to enable "Display avatars on blog index" in your Admin > Blog Control Panel

I looked for this option in the Admin > Blog Control Panel section and did not see it.  I'm using standard english-utf8, so I don't think thats the problem in not seeing the option...any ideas?

Charles Hill

Are you viewing the Main tab of the admin blog control panel?

m3po

I am.

Hmmmmm I've been working with v1.12 for so long.  Can't even remember if 1.11 has avatars on the blog index or not.  It might not.  Sorry :(

Good news, though.  v1.12 should be ready within a week.  :)

@Charles Hill

You said that the blogs would be seen as regular forum boards, and that for next version it would not...  And reason I wait ;)

But looking at the example in the quote above, I can see no forum board that is representing the blog...

Did I misunderstand something?  :D probably.. lol

runebergen - if you go to admin/blog control panel, there is an option to check to hide blog boards on the board index. click that and hit save. this should hide your blogs in the forum

When I try to install this on 1.1.4, it tells me that it's not compatible with my version of SMF or is corrupt [I downloaded it twice and tried it twice, so I doubt it's corruption that's causing it.], so I tried installing it manually which ended with pathetic results [Going to the blog page resulted in errors, and the configuration panel contained no text, etc.], so there goes two hours :P

Anyway, is there any particular reason it's failing or should I get a special package for 1.1.4?

The next version is going to be a large step forward from v1.11.  I'm going to eliminate the ability to view blog boards like normal boards.  Even the links to these blog boards from the board index will take you to their blog page instead of the normal board view.

It'll still be a week or two until the next version.  I promise it'll be worth the wait.

Hum, thats all I want to have. The blogs not seen as regular boards..   Should I wait for 1.2?

Its the last mod for my site to end up perfect, just like I want it ;)

Got a few from Sinan on board, and this will be the final one to complete a fully functional community site:)

Blog, Ultimate Profile, Simple Portal, Gallery, etc...  :)

How do do you enable this mod for the admin only?

Charles Hill

#219
Standard mode allows only the admin to make a blog.

---edit:

If anyone here has graphic design skills or knows someone who is very good with graphic design, please contact me via email.  I am in desperate need of custom blog templates for this mod.  I am building a paypal supportable store on my site that I will use to sell these custom templates, so we will come to some deal that will make us both happy :)
