Hi!
Strange things happen with my forums. Everything was working fine since now. If a click on some topics in my forums, not the site is browsed. My browsers tries to open the site with the php editor and dont want to show me the page in my browser. Strange thing is, that not any topics behave like that - just some...
Maybe someone has experienced the same thing?
Thanx for help!
Cheers

Are you using Firefox ?
If yes, Its the problem with your browser.

Also try out opening pages from another browser like Opera or Safari. They follow more standards than Firefox. :P

hmm... thanx for the answer and the link...
You are right - Safari does render the page correctly burt opera doesnt....
Then its a problem with the browser and not the smf forums? Why does it then show some pages correctly but not all?
confusing...

Have you tried this ?

Quote*  Clearing your Firefox cookies and cache (press Ctrl+Shift+Del and select them to be cleared)
    * Resetting your Download Actions:
         1. Close Firefox
         2. Open the Firefox profile folder - see How to find your profile
         3. Delete the mimetypes.rdf file
    * Checking your Internet security software (this includes antivirus and antispyware programs, firewalls, and more):
o In general, open the program's settings, remove Firefox from its "Allow" list, and then let it redetect Firefox.
o If your program is listed at the Firewalls article here, or at the Firewalls article at MozillaZine, you can get specific instructions for how to properly reconfigure. Follow them carefully.
    * Making a new Firefox profile (see Managing profiles). If that works, you can get your bookmarks and passwords into the new profile by following the instructions in the Recovering important data from an old profile article.

Firefox is always pain for me too. :P

Browsers also have some limitations. That's why we always get the next version of each browser. Otherwise all development would have stopped! :D

now im even more confused - if i switch the template to the standard template everything is working fine.. but the link in the page source is the same for both templtes - something like : index.php?board=1.0 for the not working link, a link address which is working is mainly the same - one example is: index.php?board=2.0.
How could this be working in one template and in another not?

Rumbaar

The link might be the same, but the nature of the template files called might be the factor.  The fact it works with the default CORE and issue with the custom theme would indicate an issue there.

What is the custom theme you are using?

i use the anecdota theme and modified it a little... maybe i messed it up... dont know- just changed the stylesheet changed nothing else...

Rumbaar

Well are you sure it was working at all with the theme, even before any changes you've made.  It could be a fault of the theme itself.

no - im not sure... maybe i have to install the theme again with a different name and check it again.
damn  >:( ;)
cheers!

Rumbaar

Can you supply a link to the forum in question, and we can take a look.

But the fact it works in the default theme, and not in the custom one would indicate an issue with the custom theme itself.
