Firstly, did you read that post where I gave the edits for adding new buttons (look up two posts)? That should help you to add the new buttons.

For the images, you can copy the '/Themes/default/images/arrow.gif' and '/Themes/default/images/dot.gif' files into your '/Themes/{themename}/images/' folders.

Allright =D Thanks.

Meh, I did the edits and I still see no new buttons =p I found an replaced the exact texts you wrote.

And the second thing I have no idea how I can do e__e

EDIT again: Nope, it just wont work for me. I've tried two different themes now; both gave the same result. No new buttons.

Nathaniel

I think that you issue is that you "found an replaced the exact texts (I) wrote", that means that you just copied that code that the default theme uses for a button. That was merely an example of how it needs to be done, for each theme the code for a button will be slightly different, you will need to look at the 'template_menu()' function for each theme to work out the code for each button. You should be able to base it off the 'home' button, you will need to change the url, action and language string.

Oh man i feel you. That was a great mod. Great mods are hard work and lots of time. And good workers with such a skill are hard to find. I hope this mod expansion is not effected as much like Tiny Portal.

Silly question time...

In the News block, I have a thread that I want to show.

I got it OK, but it changes every time a post is made on the same board.

The post's sticky, too, which seems to complicate things.

How do I discover what the post ID is?

The link is http://www.tlakoc.org.uk/index.php/topic,7022.0.html and using 7022, 7022.0 and 0 don't work.

Any clues, please?

Help please.

I want to use Sportal for my forum. Unfortunately, it doesn't work for me.

I know, I know, I know I should go through all the comments and replies as I am pretty sure someone must have already asked for this kind of help. But, geez! we are already at page 69! That would take me a week to go through all that :D

Can somebody simply tell me what I need to do to make it work?

Thanks in advance.

We cant help without an explanation of what isnt working. Otherwise, we would be taking wild guesses as to what is wrong giving wild answers to someting that most likely wouldnt work.

Board News Block? ;)

It work like the SSI Function Board News, and this function will output the threads first post only in order how the threads are created. You can only select a board for this kind of news.

If you like specific threads first post as news, than enable the article system and make the thread to an article, this would be the easiest way i think :).

Well, by trial and error, I found an ID that works.

It'll change, of course, the next time there's a post on that board, sadly. When that happens, I'll give that a try, ディン1031.

Not sure how the "Article" thing works, to be honest. I guess I'll try things out and screw things up see what happens.

Ta!

On Version 2.0.5 there will be a short help description for each parameter, so it will be easier to know what you can do there ;).

Now THAT seems like a plan! Thanks!

I've got it sorted, now, hopefully. I even managed to get an "xat" chatroom on the portal and made it private, which could be useful.

I really must learn some php...

Gà Mái

I have a problem. My Article on Home not show exactly.
For example: My post is: "We hope you enjoy using your forum." but the article on Home only show: "We hope..." It's not show the full post
-- I love SMF --

Nathaniel

@Gà Mái,
Change the 'Article character limit:' setting in your admin area under 'SPortal Admin' -> 'General Settings'. You will need to increase that setting. ;)

Happy I installed it!

Thank you,
Mathew

I'm really not sure why it took me so long to get back to you here. Here is my index.template.php file. Just needs the button.

What am i doing wrong......

I created a php block,

Bassically it to tell people about my forum etc.

Now i done this as i want the person if possible to be greeted by there username or if not logged in greeted as guest, below is what i put but in the box i then get an error so i must be doing something wrong, it is a PHP block and no i have not added the <? thingys.

Hello {$username} ,

Welcome to {$boardname} ,

I get this error instead of the above that i put in the PHP box
Quote
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '<' in /home/sites/foreverlastingfriends.co.cc/public_html/Sources/SPortal1-1.php(1646) : eval()'d code on line 1

Is it possible what i am trying to do? and ifso how do i do it so it greets them by guest (if not logged in) or username if logged in?

also how about a shoutbox on the simple portal page? :)

Thank you,
Mathew
