Hi,

I seem to have one slight problem.

When trying to submit an article in my blog to Facebook it says:
Quote
The page you requested was not found

You may have clicked an expired link or mistyped the address. Some web addresses are case sensitive.
Not sure if this is due to facebook links proably being changed as it still beta or soemthing.

anyone know what to do so i can fix it please ???

also my friend created a blog, it shows on the main blogs page but when i try to view her blog it says no articles to display even thou on the main bogs page it says she created an article. Now reason for this is the setting: HOW MANY ARTICLES TO BE SHOWN ON PAGE is auto set to '0' for unlimited, problem is a user has to change this as if they dont change it it says no articles to display, i think this is a bug, as if 0 is for unlimited then it still should show article but it doesn't unless you change it to a number like 1, 5 or whatever.

So basically if you dont change it from 0 to to something else it will count the article as in arictles created but not show it on there blogs.
Thank you,
Mathew

@genieuk... About the facebook thing... Simple fix for that.  Find sharer.php; in Blog.php.  Replace with sharer.php?

As for the other issue, I am not sure what is causing that.  I've changed so much from 2.0.2 Beta to 2.0.3 Beta it'd take me a bit to find the problem.  I'll post a solution here for you when I find one.

@SmokeyBlue...  I'm restructuring the entire mod from top to bottom.  It's going to be nearly stand-alone.  There will be almost no edits made to SMF's source or template files once I've redone it.  The problem is... I will have to create almost all the current functionality SMF provides with my own functions for BC (posting, editing, locking, moving, sending, printing, etc etc etc).  Also I made my own permissions system.  It will make a lot more sense for BC than SMF's permissions system.  And it will only require one database query for all the permissions (unlike SMF).

now that is going to be sweet Charles.. that means separate themes etc., right??  ;)

hmm.. my illustrator is going to get a good workout i hope!!  O:)

Mmmm... With this lot of new requests the release 2.0.3 have a long time to wait, i think...
And i need this mod. The 2.0.2 have any really big problems at this time? It's simple to upgrade to 2.0.3 if i want to use that now?

Good question!

this is what i wanted to know. I was dying to install so went ahead and installed it but worried that i will have to uninstall old version and loose the created blogs etc.

If you could provide details on how we would install new blog when it comes out, i mean will we have to uninstall our current version then install new version or upgrade and will all content created be lost?

Thanks
Mathew

Charles Hill

I have been writing a function to import all the information from the SMF tables related to the blog community.  So when you uninstall the old version and install the new version, you won't lose anything.  But there are a few issues with 2.0.2 Beta.  Nothing major.  I will add the two fixes for the problems genieuk had to the bugtracker on my site (http://degreesofzero.com/index.php?bt)

I have these 2 errors:

8: Undefined index: cannot_write_blog
File: /www/free-site-host.com/c/a/l/calebsarmylife/htdocs/Sources/Errors.php
Line: 337

8: Undefined index: page_title
File: /www/free-site-host.com/c/a/l/calebsarmylife/htdocs/Sources/Blog.php
Line: 789

For the second error this is line 789:

$context['blog']['meta']['description'] = $context['page_title'];

Hi Charles

If someone have installed the Tagging System mod of vbgamer and want of the tagging system tags dont appear in the new article of the blog mod you have to:

Search:

//Tagging system Mod
        if(!isset($context['num_replies']))

Replace:

//Tagging system Mod
        if(!($context['blogBoard'] == $context['current_board']) && (!isset($context['num_replies'])))

Maybe charles you can add this to the v2.0.3 release using an error="ignore" ;)

Won't be a problem because i am building my own posting page and post functions.  Blog Community will be completely separate from your SMF forum... except it'll use the member groups and members tables.. of course.

But if you create your own posting page , we can lose the bbcodes , right

Well so that post is only a reference :p

No you won't lose bbc.  I am still going to use SMF's parse_bbc function.  I'm also going to figure out how to use all of the same bbc buttons that are on your SMF posting pages also.

Awesome charles ;)

The v2.0 Final can be released before christmas??

lol.... probably before my birthday.  Pretty much all that's left to do is the post pages and a bunch of sub functions for articles, comments, polls, and drafts.  Then testing, of course.

My b-day is Nov 7th btw... :)

Also fix some bugs on the v2.0.2 but I am expecting the new mod ^^

hey Charles...   what are the possibilities that, with the "competely seperate system", you can get this released for smf 2.0?

It'd be A LOT easier to make it compatible with SMF 2 actually.  Since it only uses info from the member groups and members tables.  I haven't messed with the Who page in detail yet... but I might have to use the activity log table from smf as well.  We'll see.

What a very great mod. I have only two problems:

is give me a error;

8: Undefined index: rss_feed
Bestand: /home/httpd/vhosts/site.com/httpdocs/Themes/default/languages/Blog.dutch.php (manageBlogs sub template - eval?)
Regel: 1714

and:

I have market Hide portal blocks on all blog pages but i see all te TP tools on my blog. How can i hide this? I have te latest TP version.

Who can help me to fix it?

Charles Hill

@mikemikemike
Fix for first error:
http://degreesofzero.com/index.php?bt;bug=4

Version 1.06 of TP came out after version 2.0.2 Beta... so it doesn't work right with the latest TP version.
