I am currently running Mambo 4.5.0 (1.0.9) and SMF RC1 using WhiteRabbit's integration.

This integration was one of the first, and it works very well.  You can create modules to display in your mambo template very easily.  The problem is it isn't being updated.  I'd like to upgrade my site to Mambo 4.5.1, and SMF RC2 and Final when it's released to the public.

My questions are: 1) Will I lose any information (users, etc) when I upgrade to Mambo 4.5.1?  2) What is involved in switching integrations?  3) Which integration allows best module creation?

Check out my site here to see what I'm talking about:  http://www.benscustomcases.com

I'd like to be able to display Private forum messages, forum stats,  etc on the frontpage.  I'm no programmer, but I am conforatble with modifying some code if required.  Thanks for your input and Merry Christmas to all!!!

I also used WhiteRabbit's integration before this, and it does work very well.  Upgrading is a major issue.

1)  No, you won't lose any data.  The database structure is not altered in any way.

2) The best thing you can do is upgrade your Mambo, and upgrade your SMF.  This should completely erase WhiteRabbit's integration.  Then install the bridge.  I think the worst thing that happens is that everyone might need to change their password to login properly.  Something odd was done with the password encryption in WhiteRabbit's integration.

3) It is very easy to make modules for the bridge.  Take a look at the ones already made inside the package.

Those should be quite easy.

Is 2.11 the latest and greatest build then?  I'm a little apprehensive about switching over, as everything is still working.  If it breaks though, then it's too late.

Worst case scenario is that your forum and your CMS will operate separately (both upgraded of course).  PM me if you run into any major issues.
