It's very close to being complete.  To give you an idea... I think the last version had 3 or 4 sources files?  This one has over 16.  I've backwards engineered a lot of the functionality that used to be provided by SMF.  For example... the permissions system is now 100% completed.  It will end a lot of the confusion that was occurring with the last versions.  Presently there are about 50 or so permissions that you can assign.  Making your own permissions is as easy as making your own global blog settings, preferences, etc.

You may check out the latest version at http://dev.degreesofzero.com/index.php?bc

This Mod conflicts with Profile comments. go to users blog is above "Summary-(NAME)"

Charles Hill

2.0.3 won't.... because there won't be any heavy coding in the Profile page for this mod.

looking really good there Charles..  ;)

Yes i agree looks really good. I really do like the globe icon and page tool icon sort of image, i find with current version they display just anywhere, this is much cleaner, simpler and more orientated.

Looks really good, Well Done and thanks for making a great Blogging System.

any possible date to the final release of the final version of the mod???

Thanks charles

No, but it's pretty close.  I solved a lot of issues earlier today.  Lemme see if I can come up with a list of things left:

Clean up display poll template
Fully test all aspects of polls (posting, voting, editing, etc)
Make send article function (uses e-mail system of your forum)
Fully implement marked read system (independent of SMF)
Create functions for Notifications (new comments to article / new articles in blogs)
Add blog avatar setting option for blogs (will involve adding to my processFormFields function to handle file uploads)
Fix posting restrictions page in blog control panel
Finish import SMF boards function (this one's about 1000 lines of code itself...)

Hey Charli First of All Congrats For the 2.0.3 Beta which U have completed and will recently launched. You Blog Mod is Wonderful I loved it but i don't think it is compatible with latest SMF 1.1.7 ? Right Now i m using 1.1.6 and with that its compatible.

There is a serious problem in using the blog which i m facing .Only Admin Group is able to create blogs. I had given permission to all the groups but still its only the Admins who can make blogs . I m have selected Blog Community in Blog Control Panel still i m facing this problem . Can You Please Fix it.

Please Check it your self once at http://forums.parilok.org

Smoky "Rider" Blue

you need to upgrade your site.. the one you are using now have serious security flaws..

the blog will work for 1.1.7

it must be set in the admin>blog control panel

under admin only options, you will see:

Blog Mode

that is where you set it for community..  ;) wish to see an example, head over to my site: PixelbyPaint.com  :)

@ NIBOGO... That's an interesting idea.  I have been doing some thinking about how this could be done in an awesome way... And I think I got it figured out.  I will allow you to make "blocks" for the blog index page.  The blog index itself (the actual list of blogs) will be its own kind of block.  Also you'll be able to choose from a few standard blocks, and I think I'll add the ability to have some php-blocks (for admins only).  Oh and you'll be able to order the blocks just like side windows.

Smoky "Rider" Blue

lol Charles, that sounds like a plan!!

you welcome pariofdreamz..  ;)

Charles, I just uploaded your original version of the mod on the forum we use and I'm very happy with it.
Thank you so much for all your hard work!

I'm a little nervous to move to a new version but I'm trusting you will give details of upgrades for those of us who are new to the ways of version upgrades. ;D That said I did manage to update from smf 1.1.6 to 1.1.7 without the whole thing falling to pieces.

Can you tell me though if the blog posts will transfer over easy from the one version to the other? I suppose that's my main concern.
And did I see you mention that the newest version will work on smf version 1.1.7

Sorry if I'm double questioning but those questions I didn't find answers to clearly.

Thanks, again Charles  :)
