Okay... I downloaded the default them to my computer, created a new theme via admin, copied all the default theme files into the directory expecting that the mods I have installed would still show the links.

However, this did not work.

I do mean, I copied every solitary file in the default directory to a new directory, and none of the mods I have installed are showing.

Run that by us again. Are you saying that you have set the second copy up on your local host, or are you trying to make two copies for your online site?

swtdivalove

1.)  Downloaded the default theme to my desktop from the website.
2.)  Created a new theme via the ACP on the site.
3.)  Uploaded the default them from my desktop to the website into the new theme I created.

Basically, what I did was create a backup copy of the default them on the website.

Since the default theme is the one used when installing, and instead of editing the default them, I created a new theme based on the default theme so I can edit the default one without causing issues.

Antechinus

So you had mods installed before downloading it, but when you reload it the mods don't work?

swtdivalove

I installed all the mods into the default theme.  Figuring that since the default theme has all the modifications done to it, that I would create a backup that I can edit.

Antechinus

This is really strange. Of course you probably knew that already. I'd expect it to work too. Better see if anyone else has any ideas then.

swtdivalove

Yep... LOL  Not sure why it didn't work?

Antechinus

No idea. If the mods were installed before you downloaded a copy of the theme then the copy should contain all the template edits to make the mods work.

For that matter you shouldn't have even needed to download. Simply making the copy in admin should copy all the templates with the edits in them anyway.

Tell you what: try just making another copy in admin (call it Theme 2 or whatever) and see if the mods are fine on that one.

swtdivalove

Why me? LOL  Seems like all the truly weird stuff happens to me.

Antechinus

Pfft. There's more than enough weird stuff to go around. Everyone gets a prize.

*shakes head*  #)*&$#*&$)#Q($*#*&$)(*#&Q$  It's working now.  I created a new theme, and the flippin thing is working.

Antechinus

Don't ya just hate that? :P

Meh. Tick it off as solved then.

swtdivalove

Meh... Crazy thing... SOLVED! :)
