I'm not aware of a similar mod. Also, there is nothing to prevent you from implementing it on your own site. You just can't distribute it.

I just dont know where to get the modification. Cause it is not distributed via simplemachines.org... I think there has to be some modification done on the version you download from official geshi website?

GeSHi specifically prohibits inclusion in any non-GPL-compatible-licensed application. Because of this, no code can be distributed to make it work inside SMF. There is no place to download an SMF modification for it because distributing such a modification would violate the license that GeSHi is distributed under.

At the very least, that has been the stated interpretation of those who hold copyright of that code.

Basically, although you can probably find someone who can help you with the coding, you are basically on your own in integration. Oh, and even if you do make it successfully, you can't give the integration code to anyone.

I found one here in the forum It is attached to a post. Maybe you should delete that also if it violates the license? Anyway will my geshi for smf 1.1.x work with 2.x also? Maybe there is someone who knows.

By the way is it legal to use it? I know that redistribution violates the license but using it for your own forum?

It would probably require some changes to work with 2.0.

The GPL concerns itself with distribution, so you should be perfectly fine using it, you just can't distribute it.
